Restaurante Playa Fenicia — Restaurant in Vélez-Málaga

Sadly not a great meal - we were initially shown to a good table by the beach but when I said we'd reserved we were put on a table with no atmosphere by the toilet. Waitress took the order (2 Tinto de Verano, Bottle of Water, large house salad, espetos and frituro pescado) some bread arrived and 10 minutes later a pathetic looking salad (certainly not worth almost 10€ as advertised) 25 minutes later the (very nice) espetos came (by which time we had eaten all the salad and bread) Over an hour into sitting down the pescado and water never came. The waitress asked if we were still waiting for something - I said yes, the frituro but just bring the bill. The water that never arrived was still on the bill and when I questioned it there was no apology or explanation. A very disjointed, uncaring,...

This was our first visit for a couple of years and whilst I am prepared to give the place the benefit of the doubt due to it being the start of the season and the staff getting into their stride the service was terrible, we had to constantly remind the waitress that items we had ordered had not been served to the table. Whilst the sardines and gambas pil pil were very tasty the mixed fried fish was over fried, crunchy and far too salty, to the point of being unedibile, and to add insult to injury they do not accept credit cards. In conclusion, a bad experience which we will not repeat by returning. This restaurant is really going to have to up its game as the number of tourists to the area ramps up...

Worst experience in the whole beach aerea of Málaga province. Olives were too salty and not good Grilled paprikas did not taste good Grilled fish was like rubber Ordered bread was not served but charged in the bill Incompetent waitress having no knowledge of dishes Although the waitress confirmed we ordered the medium size, another seemgly senior personnel charged us for large size dish prices (cheating)
