Siam Thai Restaurante — Restaurant in Vélez-Málaga

A few friends had recommended this place so we decided to go. Except for a few posters of Thailand the ambience is non-existant, especially so given the very small size of the restaurant. The menu was extensive, if not rather difficult to read. We don't eat lots so ordered the chicken satay. What a joke. Not only was the sauce lacking in flavour and texture, there was barely enough for three pieces of chicken. Having tried Thai green curry in so many places, I decided to give it a go. The portion was more in keeping with a starter, and the five prawns and sparse veg in a soup made from Chinese shop bought paste (we saw it from our table next to the bar) did not warrant the 12 Euro price tag. Four of us went for dinner. Three ordered the same dish and explained to the waiter that we wanted different spice levels - and it turned out exactly as we requested. Mine was full of green and red chilli, and not overly sweet like we often find in Thai restaurants in the UK. All the ingredient were fresh. Sehr schönes kleines Thai Restaurant. Der Kellner war direkt da und hat uns begrüßt. Wir würden auf etwas längere Wartezeit aufgrund der Auslastung hingewiesen. Nach kurzer Zeit gab es die Getränke und einen Gruß aus der Küche. Die Vorspeisen kamen zügig und waren ausreichend und sehr lecker. Die Hauptspeisen haben trotz Hinweis auf längere Wartezeit nicht zu lange gedauert, waren frisch und heiß am Tisch.

Das Pad Thai ist als Nationalgericht Thailands Natürlich immer mit dabei und war hier sehr lecker, für mich ungewöhnlich war das Pad Thai mit Hühnchen und Schrimps gemischt. Aber es war ausgezeichnet.

Auch sehr gut und schmackhaft war das Rindfleisch mit roter Currysoße. Hier kommt der Reis in einer kleinen extra Schale. Es ist sehr gut gewürzt und das Fleisch ist weich und geschmackvoll.

Als letztes hatten wir die Empfehlung des Kellers, gebackene Ente süß sauer. Aus Deutschland ist man hier immer die gleiche Soße gewohnt. Doch hier ist die Soße deutlich intensiver und weniger angedickt als in Deutschland. Es war viel Gemüse in der Soße und nicht nur Bambus und Ananas. Dazu war die Ente hervorragend kross aber nicht tot frittiert. Dieses Gericht kann man nur empfehlen.

Unser Aufenthalt hier war wirklich schön. Wir haben hervorragend gegessen und es war für 3 Personen ein faires Preis-Leistung Verhältnis.
