Visited this place on the rather weird recommendation of a friend who exclaimed "it's a roadside caf, but not like you'd expect...." and boy was old man Brian right. To be honest, the drive from the coast to the restaurant was a pretty good start, chugging through the gorge in our little fiat 500 certainly built up an appetite, which was just as well since the menu del dia was enough to feed a small army! We sat outside and were instantly attended and ordered a couple of Cana's while we chose our meal. As I said, we both chose from the menu del dia which had a great selection of starters and mains. Food ordered it pretty much all arrived at once and boy was there a lot! All super tasty I might add! The a dessert too! Waiters rushing and actually running about made for a very strange atmosphere in this busy lunch stop, yet my husband's steak arrived barely lukewarm? Strange. Pork with mushrooms was lovely as was the succulent mixed salad. Was charged fiver for a dessert that should have been included in the set menu, after pointing this out, surcharge for dessert that was outside the menu selection?? Estuvimos comiendo aquí. Voy a destacar varias cosas:
1⁰.- Quiero dar las gracias a Mª Carmen. Es de Adra y nos atendió con un cariño y una profesionalidad extraordinaria. Y lo digo sabiendo lo que digo, ya que he estado 14 años trabajando de comercial y teniendo que desayunar, comer y cenar fuera.
Si cercanía y atención nos hizo sentir como si estuviésemos en nuestro restaurante de toda la vida.
Nos aconsejó muy bien a la hora de pedir, para que no nos quedasemos cortos de comida, pero tampoco nos pasásemos.
Gracias Mª Carmen, ojalá hubiese muchas más personas como tú.
2º.- Platos abundantes. Pedimos una ensalada, unas croquetas y unos huevos rotos y no pudimos terminar con todo (2 adultos y 2 niños).
Croquetas, absolutamente exquisitaa. Caseras 100% y perfectamente en su punto.
Ensalada de la casa. Muy rica, variada y abundante. Me encantó.
Huevos rotos con patatas y jamón. También muy bueno. Para mi gusto el jamón un poco salado, pero también tengo que decir que estoy acostumbrado a comer sin sal o poca sal. Para otras personas quizá esté en su punto de salado.
3⁰.- Fueron rápidos al servir, y eso que el restaurante el estaba hasta los topes.
4⁰.- Relación calidad/precio, muy buena. Hemos salido a 12 €/persona, con 2 consumiciones por persona y los 3 platos.
