I was very disappointed because we were not informed upfront that the restaurant wasn't fully functional on Sundays. When we arrived at the hotel on a Sunday, we didn't have a second chance to try the well-advertised cuisine. We were given a short menu with very limited choices. The "fresh bread with tomatoes, garlic, and oil" turned out to be a plate with toasted pieces of baguette, a small uncut tomato, an unpeeled garlic clove, and a prettily presented virgin oil. When I asked about this uninspired dish, I was told curtly that's how it's done in Spain. Despite the excellent second dish, a perfectly spiced beef tartare, I am surprised that Relais & Chateau would consider this to be an excellent choice or a way to present food in their chain of exceeding excellence. The ambience of the place itself is enchanting and so was the view. The staff was very nice. The breakfast on the other hand was delicious and absolutely stunning. Fresh fruit, eggs and cheese from local farmers as well as the best honey I've had as far...

Update 2025: Another perfect evening with delicious food on the terrace of La Torre del Visco: starting with the aperitif right through to Violeta's excellent rasberry pavlova. The ingredients are mostly homegrown or locally sourced wherever possible and it really tastes like it, especially the herbs.

2024: Another excellent Torre del Visco birthday dinner celebration on the terrace, starting with baba ganoush (an aubergine hummus) followed by sea bream en papillote with thinly sliced al dente courgettes and finishing off with a delicious peach tatin & icecream. All accompanied by a glass or two of an interesting white wine from the village of Batea. It was so good that I started eating before realising I hadn´t taken any photos which I always do to prove I am a genuine client!

2020 Great place, great food and service.. Must book...

The restaurant is part of the hotel, with stunning views of The Valley and surrounded by plants and rustic elegant architecture. The service is friendly and attentive. The owner is very visible and active in the experience. Food is well executed and nicely presented. Good selection of wines. The only improvement point was the start of the evening, which they provided in the form of a tomato tasting from the varieties they grow in their garden, at the kitchen. While original and a good opportunity to personally interact with the chef, I felt the tasting was not as well organized as the rest of the meal. Please note that the country road to get there is challenging so ideally treat yourself to a night...
