Asador La Ochava — Restaurant in Valdilecha

We were in the area for one week on business and this restaurant was recommended to us for lunch.

So glad we found it. The daily menu always had excellent options with both local and popular regional dishes.

We had the best service here every day, and everything I ordered each day was absolutely wonderful.

Paella, Gazpacho, Various Stews, Chops, Ribs, Rabbit, on and on it went. All so good.

And don’t get me started on the dessert. I had the best Flan that I’ve ever had in my entire life here one afternoon.

I wish that I had taken more photos, but felt a little uncomfortable as a foreigner whipping out the camera in this little village town restaurant.

A really enjoyable surprise! I've eaten in many asadores in Madrid and around it and generally you leave full, but a bit disappointed. Often especially with the service. I entered la ochava and expected the same. Then the waiter arrived and explained the menu. Super friendly. The starters were far more elaborated than normal, and the quality of the mains was excellent. I enjoyed this restaurant more than any asador I've experienced. Para ser honestos, es la primera vez que visitamos el restaurante, pero la impresión inicial con respecto a la limpieza, recibimiento y atención muy buena. Comimos unos calamares, recomendados por el camarero, excelentes... Crujientes, tal como se puede exigir de un rebozado. Del color de estos te trasmite que el aceite donde se fríen es específico para ellos y la textura es de un producto de primera calidad. La presentación no es nada sofisticada, pero no la echas en falta, pues lo que se busca es que no te defraude la sugerencia del camarero... Hay que decir que supera las expectativas. Con respecto a la carne que comimos, chuletón de vaca vieja, muy tierno y de muy buena calidad. Con respecto a la presentación igual que los calamares, sencilla y tradicional. Al leer las demás reseñas no hemos podido evitar pedir la tarta de tres quesos, para llevar, puesto que con lo que hemos comido hemos quedado saciados. Para resumir y ser concreta, considero que es un buen restaurante, donde prima la calidad, sin excentricidades ni elaboraciones que alteran el producto. Se entiende que la selección de materias primas y la no alteración de estas hacen de este lugar un restaurante digno de visitar. No me quiero despedir sin destacar el trato...
