Bodegas Lezaun — Restaurant in Valle de Yerri/Deierri

Wow! We are a British family staying in the area. We (2 adults and children aged 9 and 6) enjoyed a long lunch here today in the beautiful cool arches of the Bodega. The staff couldn't have been friendly, despite the language barrier (I speak a little Spanish and they speak a little English). Lunch was beyond delicious, a tasting menu with wine for the adults and grape juice for the children all produced on the estate. The steak was exceptional and was a highlight for everyone and the frozen slush style mojito desserts were amazing. The chef was obviouly proud of his creations (and rightly so) and happily showed us the indroos BBQ used to cook steaks (which included horse!) Very neat winery and restaurant. You fill your pitcher of wine directly from the tap on one of the giant barrels. The food was quite tasty, representing a variety of tasty local specialties. La visita a la bodega muy interesante. Lo que la hace diferente a otras visitas que he hecho son varias cosas: una, que es vino ecológico, por lo que las explicaciones son diferentes ya que es interesante saber cómo combaten las enfermedades o plagas de forma diferente a lo habitual, las diferencias en el cultivo habitual etc... También, que el que lo explica es enólogo, a diferencia de las grandes bodegas. Además de ser muy ameno, sabe muchísimo del tema, y además lo vive. Es su bodega. Finalmente es una bodega muy pequeña que aún conserva la bodega tradicional antigua que había en los bajos de las casas, lo cual le da un toque entrañable de relación con la tradición. En cuanto al vino que probamos, había un tinto que era de maceración carbónica, que a mi no me gusta mucho... pero en cambio el blanco me gustó mucho y el rosado bastante. Y finalmente tienen un restaurante con un menú de 48€ que es increible. De muy alto nivel, con muy buena relación calidad precio....
