We arrived on a Monday around 13:00. After a ferry crossing from Tenerife and a nice drive through the mountains. We walked a bit and went to the Alto at 1472 meters. So getting hungry we wanted to order some sandwiches, of which the restaurant offered three different kinds. So far so good. The grumpy woman behind the counter first ignored us. Then there were no sandwiches. Then she went to the kitchen and reluctantly agreed there were. We ordered three. Then we ordered 1 cappuccino which was received with rolling eyes and lots of Spanish words. Not the nice ones. Then I ordered also two chocolate chip cookies but she gave one. We wanted to take everything but there was no bag for the cookies, later there was. If we payed for it. Then I mentioned that I wanted two cookies. Not one. Another load of eye rolling and running up and down. My partner speaks a bit of Spanish. The woman commented loudly to her colleagues how bad it was. The other Spanish guests in the room made clear to us that her behavior was totally out of line and left without ordering. Go sit behind a computer if you do not want to help tourists. The sandwiches were not to bad. Toilets were on the women side without toiletpapier. On the men’s side no soap. Rest of the area...
Read moreI was there after I quit my hike because of rain. I got offered a table as soon as I walked in. The table was set for my, while I could take of my wet clothes without stress. I ate the Laguna Stew, I found it extraordinary! It had like 10 different kinds of vegetables and two kinds of meat. All of the above in one big piece each. It looked really pretty and it was so tasty. And warm ;) First I found it quite noisy inside, but as soon as two bigger groups of people left it was really comfy. The waiter was really nice and regularly showed of his whisteling language skills - amazing! The view outside the back and side window are really great, directly into the laurel forest with moss on the ground. After I left, I realized they kept it open for me for half an hour longer than normal - withot any kind of rush. Really sweet and cozy place. Oh and the prices are much much cheaper than I expected in a touristy place like...
Read moreRestaurant set in the middle of garajonay park, seemed to be overpriced and rather tourist trap place. To our surprise turned out to be complete difference. Welcoming staff, low prices and big portions make it great place. Not mentioned the views you get during consumption. Staff helpful and smiling, with positive approach to client, when asked for recommended food they had no hesitation to mention potaje de berros (kind of local soup made of watercress served with gofio). We took a portion of papas arrugadas (boiled potatoes) with mojos....
