One night, we drove past Bar Ca Fermin. The doors opened, locals outside were smoking cigarettes and talking to each other. On the inside, people were enjoying the evening together at Fermin´s bar. This bar seemed like the perfect place to experience the Canarian food and we were right.

Eventhough the other guests and Fermin could cleary recognize us as tourists, we didn´t feel unwelcomed. After setting foot in the Bar, Fermin gave us a warm heartfelt greeting and made us feel at home instantly. Instead of letting us order things in vain, he informed us well about the menu and even gave us some insight in his wife´s cooking process. Have I mentioned that none of us guests could speak spanish? Yet, there was no language barrier. Fermin is a man that speaks with his heart, as his meals are cooked with a love you could taste. The food was just perfect. We ordered a plethora of meals and shared everything. While tasting the goat meat, it melted away in your mouth. The gambas with garlic came in a pan still sizzling. I savoured every bit of the garlic oil with my bread, cherished every drop of mojo until, not only my stomach was filled, but until my soul was filled, too. Fermin was always interested in our opinion of his food and looking out for our needs. But it didn´t feel like a mere service. It was a sincere gesture of Canarian hospitality. So naturally after finishing our meals, Fermin treated us to a Canarian speciality - Ron Miel.

Dear Fermin, thank you for making this an unforgettable evening with friends! I´m already looking forward to come here again. Best wishes from Saskia, Frederik,...

How often do we read reviews and try to imagine or interpret whether the hostelry might be to our liking? All too often! We simply delayed rather too long before trying Ca' Fermin. In my humble opinion any bar that right up front offers a local island white as it's house wine is off to a very, very good start. The menu is short by design in order to allow a small kitchen and incredibly welcoming host to focus on the quality of each and every dish. Everything here is selected, cooked and presented with care and simple perfection. The bread is local, served warm with an exquisite homemade alioli. The cheeses are local and delicious. The seafood salad with prawns teaches practically any beach bar the way it should be made. The fries are hand cut and homemade. I could go on. You can taste and feel the pride and pleasure behind a tiny but professional team. Maybe it was just my imagination but even the coffee rounding off lunch was just perfectly drawn. It is basic by its own design and admission. But don't let it's humble setting or simple menu distract you from what most restaurants would benefit from thoroughly revisiting... a clear focus on quality ingredients, simply prepared and lovingly presented with humility and a true desire to please! We have found a new...

we looked for a local restaurant to end up among the locals. this place met all our expectations. we were received super friendly. the food was excellent and came to the table quickly. we had the typical salted potatoes, a delicious salad with scampis and tasty meat. top. the bartender wanted everything to be to your liking and served us with a lot of love. it is a classy bar where you can fully enjoy a delicious meal. definitely worth coming here. We are happy to write this review and we hope that this case can be discovered much more. after our dinner we got a nice degoustiefke. we had a nice evening! Greetings Joren en...

We liked a lot the food and approach! Came there after hike in Roque Jincao, and had some time and appetite to eat out in this place. Host is super friendly, suggested his options of what to try for us (half portion Papas Arrugadas, half portion goat stew and half portion shrimp salad). It felt very local and cosy. For food, beer 🍺 for me and water we paid 19 euros which is great price for what we got. Loved it! There is a meny on the wall helping with choice.

Authentic bar in the mountain village of Tenteniguada. We went there for tapas today after the fantastic hike on the Caldera de los Marteles. The host is welcoming and very friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant and the tapas are delicious. The patatas (potatoes) are from the host’s own garden. Insider tip, definitely visit this place if you are in Gran Canaria!!!

If by any chance you get to come across this place. You’ll be amazed. The owner is awesome, the food is … He has specials of the days everyday. Everything is cooked on the spot. You have to try his potatoes. Goat. Prawns. Just everything. And keep returning as long as you’re able to because you won’t find ant better food and vibes anywhere else!
