Chez Epices — Restaurant in Viñuela

Stay away from this dirty restaurant and rude owner. The place is in need of a clean let alone a makeover. Nonetheless nothing that a welcome and some good food cannot overcome. There is no warm welcome, there is contempt and greed and an over priced menu. The flavours may be good but the quality of meat is poor and everything points to a bitter owner trying to milk the last out of the last days of this business. In addition we were surprised to hear so many reasons why you must pay by cash, the weather means no signal, the machine isnt working the guy just reeks of dishonesty. Still up a hill, but has otherwise gone downhill. Our last visit here was years ago, and we have such fantastic memories of it that we decided to go for a special occasion. The warm welcome proffered by the previous owners has been replaced by a nonchalant "hola" propped up at the end of the bar. The soft music has disappeared. The silk slipper-clad service has given way to the basic "what do you want" of any run-of-the-mill restaurant. Gone are the candle plate-warmers. The food is still great, though, albeit overpriced considering you are now only paying for the food and the experience of it all has completely vanished. I give this place 1 star because they won't allow me to give it 0 stars!! From the moment we got there the service was poor, almost felt like we bothered when we walked in. The food was TERRIBLE to say the least. the onion bajis were RAW , the prawns my friend had were in some pink sauce that ive never seen before.i am a vegan and adore indian food, my chickpeas curry was oily and no flavour whatsoever. The waiter had an attitude for no reason and didn't even offered a discount or anything seeing that 80% of the food was untouched almost!
