If you are anywhere near Girona or Figueres I recommend strongly to visit this restaurant. Also perfect after the Dali museum on the way back to the Costa Brava. Off the beaten track in a beautiful little village. The restaurant was full of locals. English translation of the menue available Albert, the maitre de maison, was delightful and the service was excellent. Price of main courses between 10 and 14 EUR. Total bill for 2 without wine was 50 EUR. Highly recommend the onion cake as appetizer. We had the lamb and the rabbit with prunes. Both excellent. North catalunyan country food. Update in Mai 2024: Still wonderful. Added more pictures. This time we had duck for main course and a duck liver salad for starters (plus the onion tart of course). That's the way to go! Read moreI was taken by two friends for lunch to this restaurant a few days ago. What an excellent meal, even though I only had a taste if their famous 'onion tart' although there are many other Catalan specialities.
It's decor makes you feel as though you have been transported back to 19th century Catalonia with it's barrel vaulted roof.
The owner, who speaks English, and staff were very attentive and helpful. Well worth a visit...
