Most Excellent Service and Great Value for Money at El Chamo If you dare to venture up to La Escalona, on your way to or from El Teide, you definitely want to stop here at El Chamo for a meal. El Chamo is open 7 days a week from 12:30 to 23:00 specialising in traditional Canarian cuisine such as goats and rabbits with a wide variety of wood-grilled meats and homemade desserts. Also, try their award winning cheese which goes fantastically well with the local wines which they obtain directly from the bodega nearby. This 28-year-old family run restaurant is very friendly and we always look forward to a great chat and laughter with the staff. At El Chamo, the staff takes time explaining to customers of the numerous dishes on offer as all the ingredients are freshly selected daily by the owner Jose and the meals are prepared with much care and love by 6 ladies in the kitchen. With a wide variety of tapas, succulent grilled meats, and great house wines, we never paid more than a reasonable price. tenerifelocalfoodguide

It was a long drive to get to this place but definitely worth it. I recommend reaching the place around 5pm so you can see a beautiful sunset over the sea when you finish dining, unlike from the seashore, where the island of La Gomera stands between the viewer and the horizon. The restaurant is decorated in a rustic Canarian style, overlooking the sea and has a well-stocked menu but the house specialty is the roast suckling pig. Everything we ordered was very good, if you order the black pudding though, do it for two as although it is very good, the portion is too large. As soon as we sat at the table we were brought fresh bread and the typical Canarian sauces, aioli sauce, green and red mojo and their version of the spicy spreadable salami. Followed by a vegetable soup and black pudding as an appetizer and as a main course two portions of roast suckling pig, very good but with some dry and not edible parts, a side dish of vegetables. We would have gladly ordered dessert but there was no room in the stomach.

If you want to laugh, you have to be in this restaurant. If you want a good dinner, go somewhere else. Because good reviews we went to this restaurant. A few waiters will entertain the customers. We had a lot of fun because of the language used and a complete approach. 🤡 We only ordered main course 1 chicken and 1 steak, we were asked if we wanted normal baked potatoes that we had to order separately. The pieces of chicken that seem to have been separated by a monkey were very greasy and without extra as a vegetable or something like sauce. The rare baked steak was served on an ice cold plate without anything about it. The steak was very large, think between 0.4 / 0.5 kg and cold inside. 😢 Waiter waited for our first impression and asked us if the steak was warm enough and I could answer with "no". Take the meat back to the chef's paradise and within a few minutes I got the steak something more warm back with greetings and say that the kitchen is open for 24 hours to repeat. The served fries dripped with oil. We eat something and end at an early stage. for dessert we had to choose a display cabinet because it says that the quantity could not be described. Fortunately, the selected desserts were deliciously tasty. After paying the bill which was very reasonable for good food, not as served, we got an own brewed drink. Was really not to drink, such a strong and seema as pure purification spirit, with some fruit in it. We feel that they want to poison us, so we throw it in the windowsill. what an experience with these people. 😂😂😂

A family friendly, warm hospitality and great Spanish comfort food. THE GARLIC AIOLI IS TO DIE FOR Staff here is a 10/10 they are so polite and make you feel at home, really punctual, informative and helpful, a great cheerful atmosphere they provided topped our lunch off. Prices are very fair and well priced , with the great selection of items I highly recommend. Food is tasty, flavourful and vibrant, not the best of presentations but good simple and rustic dishes, which are big portions. The garlic aioli with bread is amazing definitely worth ordering a few more, and it’s great to see a restaurant selling reasonable we’ll really cheap drinks.

Adjunto ticket. Por último, me gustaría felicitarles por todos los servicios, también por la desinfección antes y después de mesas y sillas. Muchas gracias por la experiencia, ha sido un placer y volveremos sin dudarlo.

Had a great dinner here last night! Lovely service, good price & quality ratio, nice portions and great locally grown products! Started with vegetable soup (simple, but nice) and chickpea "soup", which was more of a stew, very delicious, yet quite rich portion, So consider it if planning to have a full meal afterwards :D Then i had lamb chops - super nice and tender, - and my partner had rabbit, which was also delicious, prepared with local spices. The food we accompanied by the house red wine, which was really nice! Highly recommend this place!
