For the second year in a row I found this restaurant completely underwhelming. The only reason I came back was because last year I went on the first day of my trip jet lagged. And thought I was being harsh. The first year I started with the caesar salad which in fairness, was lovely. For the main I had a ‘steak’.It was cooked to well done (I requested medium rare) and was extremely thin and small, not reflective of the price at all.Tasted ok in the end. The chips were unfortunately, dry. Didn’t help that my waiter took about 3 asks and 20 minutes to get us cold pepper sauce. The place was busy, In fairness, hence the 3 star rating. Didn’t get dessert so no comment.
Year 2 saw me return to camping Vilanova Park (very enjoyable stay little to no downsides), and on night 3 we returned to Mas Roquer and I had a similar experience. The caesar salad was lovely (again). But my main course pepperoni pizza was average and slightly raw. Was very annoying after I specifically ordered it over the horrible attempt at a steak the year previous. The chips this year were slightly better and were quite nice. But just as things looked up I stumbled across a new problem. A few people in the restaurant were sitting in swimming shorts and no t-shirt on. This may not annoy other people, but I think its ill-mannered. People come from outside the campsite to eat at Mas Roquer (can’t fathom why as there is cheaper and tastier alternatives elsewhere) and I know if I travelled I would be disgusted. Yes I get its near a pool but still people pay a lot of money (€250 in my family’s situation) just to sit there. I think a simple dress code such as just wearing a t-shirt should be introduced. The service was quite good yet they seemed to be in a rush the whole time as if they were understaffed. I do not planning on returning to Mas Roquer again. Bear in mind the campsite is excellent. Fully recommend...
Read moreI just ate there with my son, who only eats pasta. For context this is not the high season and the restaurant was more than half empty.
The staff insisted that to order plain pasta I had to pay for a full spaghetti bolognese meal, because apparently they can't sell pasta any other way.
I asked to speak with the manager but was presented with a man who apologised and agreed it didn't make sense but he didn't set the prices. I was told the manager was too busy to see me.
I wound up ordering it with the bolognese sauce on the side. It was tiny and cold.
I sent it back and complained of the portion size (it was literally 4 teaspoons worth). I was told that was a portion, and nothing could be done.
I asked for the manager again and was told he was still too busy.
I said the meal was a disgrace and that I wouldn't be willing to pay for what had been presented. Another ramekin of bolognese sauce was presented.
Would...
Me recuerdan a robots mal programados.
