I have been going to Masena for 20 years , every May and August whilst on holiday. Unfortunately there has been a gradual decline that i now feel i need to comment on. Last night i went as a party of 4. The service we recieved was just not acceptable for a restaurant of this quality. We spent 362 euros on a 2-course meal and like many people im sure , my expectations increase in line with the amount i am being charged. We had to ask at least twice everytime we wanted something. I had to ask if we could place our order after having been sat for a good 20 minutes after we reciecved the menu. After we recieved our main course nobody came to ask if everything was ok. This is a small thing but all part of the high levels of service you expect in an expensive restaurant. I shared the Beef on the stone with my Son and the portion was not enough so we asked for some more. We were charged an incredible 120 euro
s for the 2 pieces of Chateau Briand. The quality of the food remains excellent . The staff were working very hard , it was very busy but the restaurant lacked leadership. Thi is the second time i have been when Valentin ( Who i assume is the restaurant manager) has not been working and the whole experience without him present changes everything. I really look forward to these meals out and it is so disappointing when they don
t live up to your expectations. Please go back to the high levels of customer service that you used... Read moreFantastic! Worthy of a Michelin star. I Love this restaurant, there is care, innovation and passion present in both service and food. I had the truffle duck foi - every mouthful an explosion of taste, from the little red “pearls”of juice to the sesame shards and intense flavours of the duck foi. Each dish is a delight to the eye with beautiful presentation. My husband had the menu dell dei which was extremely good value and had their infamous pineapple carpaccio with coconut foam and prawns starter.
My main was the confit suckling pig, accompanied as always by a variety of seasonal vegetables always perfectly cooked along with two stunning sauces and sliced potatoes - absolute perfection!
Desert…..the brioche soaked pudding - you must try it!! All this and the little extras like the muse bouche at the beginning, the palate cleansing delightful sorbet in between starter and mains. The service here is exceptional - waiters proud to serve the food and thoroughly professional. Ambience…..fabulous, always full (no wonder) and I love the traditional but modern design, fresh linens etc.

We started with some delicious appetizers — generous portions and absolutely full of flavor.
Of course, we couldn’t skip the restaurant’s “Jewel”: the Chateaubriand, served on a warm stone. As a true meat lover, I can honestly say it was one of the best cuts I’ve ever had — tender, juicy, and melting in the mouth. Simply amazing!
The owner himself took the time to let us try three different wines to find the perfect pairing for our meal. A charming host with deep knowledge and a natural passion for what he does — you can tell he was born to run this restaurant.
I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates fine dining. Top-quality food, excellent service, and an overall outstanding experience.
