Horrific. Uncooked pork and terribly slow service due to lack of staff - the poor waitress was run off her feet and couldn't do more than she did (the other extremely popular bar/restaurant in the village closes Mondays but the owner hadn't bothered to put on staff to cover this). Took visiting family who luckily had a good sense of humour that we went out for a meal then had to go home to have something to eat! Extremely disappointing.
Edit Reply from the restaurant regarding my review was to say we didn't get charged for the pork and that we should have sent it back to get cooked to our liking: this was our intention (altho surely it is down to the chef to make sure it is cooked?), we had ordered more drinks when the food arrived and intended to inform the waitress when the drinks were brought over. However, neither the waitress or drinks arrived and the rest of us had finished our cooked meals some time ago, although one of the party had to retrieve their own cutlery from another table. I gave up waiting and went to find someone to inform them the meal wasn't cooked and we had to get back to the babysitters so to cancel our drinks and we'd settle up. I would like to point out that the staff were very apologetic and were doing what they could, it was just severely under-staffed. I'd also like to point out I have eaten there before a long time ago and was very happy with...
Read moreAmazing find! We tried to go to the famous Bodega up the road, but it was closed and a local guy ( as local as Norwegian...jejejej) had recommend this place. All 6 dished were amazing. However, the Bacalao dish was out of this world ( the quality of the cold smocked and then grilled Bacalao was of a 5* restaurant, specifically Sofitel Macao, where we had a similar dish). The pork grilled was very flavorful and uniquely presented. Great place, but difficult to find. And the funny part was a big white cat guarding the entrance of the...
Read moreLocal café, popular with the residents who seem to meet up there. As Uga is a small place there's only a couple of places to go. They do tapas, and desayuno here but didn't have any patisserie or tart available to go with my coffee. Unfortunately the coffee was marred for me because the water had a brackish taste, that I've noticed in hotel tap water, but not in coffee. Probably locals are used to it so don't notice. Nice outside seating under wooden roof and...
