Octopus Restaurant - Sri Lanka — Restaurant in Eastern Province

Ordered a sea food platter and tabled it 1 hour and 10 minute’s (initially they said it takes only 20 minutes) later which I saw the poorest sea food platter I have ever seen and had 😃 when I asked them why didn’t it come with the sea foods what you said it’s available before and the staff replied saying that some of items not available despite we said it’s available 🤷‍♂️ no delicious at all, just watery taste and said it’s because of not having the proper chef. There are many things to say but I won’t honestly. There are pretty decent places all around and with real disappointed mind I would say AVOID GOING TO OCTOPUS RESTAURANT 👎 This place is a shame for Sri Lanka and it’s tourism if they do to other guest also....

Look. I know. It's Sri Lanka and maybe here everything goes a little bit slower... but. They said they have everything to eat. We were the only guests and sadly we ordered already before we read the reviews. We ordered a Toast with tomato, cheese and onions. Nothing special. We waited almost one hour. Then... the toast came, with no tomato inside. Went back to the kitchen. 10 min later came back again. Then, we found a little plastic in the toast. Ok can happen. The toast was ok. Octopus restaurant is my favourite fish restaurant Sri Lanka. Everyday they have a selection of freshly caught fish. You can even request the restaurant to find any specific fish you like.

The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The chef is great, and makes delicious food. After a few days of fish I wanted something else and he made me cordon bleu (I brought cheese from Holland) the chicken was perfectly cooked and very delicious.
