Outstanding Seafood & Service.

We had the absolute pleasure of dining at මඩුව Family Restaurants during our visit to Galle, and it turned out to be one of the best meals we've had in Sri Lanka!

We ordered the seafood platter, and although a few items weren’t available, the incredibly kind gentleman—who I believe is the owner—went above and beyond to make sure we left happy. He offered us extra portions of everything else, and we were more than satisfied with the result.

Our platter included king prawns, tuna, calamari, fries, and a fresh salad, as well as an incredible mixed fried rice loaded with prawns, tuna, and pork, all served with a rich, gravy-style sauce. The flavours were outstanding—fresh, vibrant, and perfectly seasoned. It was easily the best seafood we’ve had on the island so far.

The service was exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The staff made us feel right at home and couldn’t do enough to ensure we were satisfied.

There’s also plenty of parking right out the front, which made the whole experience even more convenient.

My husband & I ate here recently on our 2 nights in the Galle area, the second night bringing four friends with us after our great first night. The food is amazing with very generous serves and very reasonably priced. The meals are cooked freshly by Kalum who is attentive to the level of spice the customer requests. His wife & neighbours assist him and the service is friendly & attentive. Each night my husband & I ordered two different dishes and then shared so we could enjoy two of the many options available. Kalum had photos of each dish & explained what we were choosing. We had two fantastic experiences at this wonderful, local, family run business.
