If I could give zero stars, I would. We went in expecting a decent meal, and left feeling absolutely robbed – both financially and gastronomically.
First off, who in their right mind serves Manchow soup with vermicelli instead of crispy fried noodles? It felt like an insult to both Chinese cuisine and common sense. That alone was enough to ruin our appetite, but oh no – the horror didn’t stop there.
We ordered 6 naan, chicken curry, and chilli chicken – nothing fancy, just basic stuff. And the bill? A mind-numbing 14,000 LKR, which translates to around 4000 INR. For that price, I could’ve had a five-star buffet, not this overpriced disaster.
The food was average at best. Honestly, the only spice in the food was the salt from my tears after seeing the bill.
Worst. Experience. Ever. Save your money and your sanity – eat literally anywhere else.
Response to the restaurant’s comment:
Oh wow, what customer service!
Thank you so much for your enlightening response. I’m truly humbled by your wisdom — clearly, hospitality and basic respect must be optional subjects in your management degree.
Yes, I did read the prices. I also expected the food to match them — silly me! But now that you’ve explained that vermicelli in Manchow soup and average roti and curry is your idea of “premium dining,” I totally get it. Revolutionary, really.
And don’t worry — I won’t “beg for discounts” or “cry for prices” again. I’ll just do what all disappointed customers should do: never step foot in your restaurant again and make sure everyone I know — and don’t know — hears about the kind of royal treatment you reserve for people who dare to expect value for money.
Also, thanks for the advice about staying home. I’ll happily follow it — and dine somewhere that doesn’t serve condescension...
Read moreWe recently visited Cuisine Delight in Bentota for lunch as a family of four. Unfortunately, our experience was far from delightful. We had to wait 30 to 40 minutes for our food, which was merely okay. The service was below average, and to our surprise, a mandatory 10% service charge was added to our bill. When we questioned this, given our dissatisfaction with the service, we were told it couldn't be removed. This left a sour taste in our mouths. Overall, not a place we would recommend.
Dear Owner,
Thank you for your response. I must admit, your method of communicating information was quite unique and, dare I say, educational. While we were hoping for a discussion about our dining experience, it seems we received an unexpected lesson in how to insult customers. It's ironic, given the topic at hand, but rest assured, I do appreciate the irony.
My intent was to provide constructive feedback based on our dining experience on the service quality. I hope you can understand that feedback, whether positive or negative, is a part of running any business and can be a valuable tool for growth. I did not intend to offend, and it’s important for all interactions to...
Read moreI ordered kadai paneer and mutter mushroom with steamed rice and tandoori roti. Both the curries had small pieces of stone in them. I showed a piece of stone to staff. After inspecting it he said “Isn’t it salt?”. I work in the service industry so I know not to be rude when expressing concerns so even when he said something that is kinda insulting, I just smiled and said “no sir, it’s a piece of stone”. The food wasn’t bad and the place is clean and I understand that sometimes these things can happen but I know what should be done to make it up to a customer. First step is an apology and then comes whatever they can do within their capacity (could be changing the dishes to new ones or cutting the price down or offering a dessert as an apology). None of the staff apologized, nothing was done about the issue, all of them acted like it didn’t happen and one of them just handed over the bill. I paid and left. Should I fight about it when they clearly don’t care? I chose not to spoil my mood anymore than it already was. This is my time writing a bad review hoping they improve their hospitality for the...
