Traveller’s Café at Lavenro Garden Hotel
Sixteen of us in our group travelling together stopped here for breakfast. This restaurant has easy access, being along the Colombo - Rathnapura main road at Kosgama. There is adequate parking. The restaurant belongs to the adjoining Lavenro Garden Hotel. Hand-wash and body temperature check were mandatory at entry.
The dining tables were clean and sanitised and cleansed immediately after the departure of each set of diners. The breakfast buffet consisted of Sri Lankan dishes - string hoppers, rice, roast paan, chickpeas, boiled manioc, boiled sweet potato, dhal, chicken curry, fish curry, coconut sambol, along with tea or coffee. The food tasted average but was hygienically presented. Costing Rs 350 per head it was reasonable value for money. Tea or coffee were served at the table. The kitchen, visible from the dining area, appeared to be modern and clean.
Cakes, sweets, pastries and short eats too could be separately purchased.
The staff were helpful, courteous, and ever ready to assist us.
The toilets were clean and maintained to adequate...

I stopped here for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices. Their string hopper meal for just 250 rupees is an absolute steal! They also offer add-ons like chicken and boiled eggs if you're looking for something more substantial. Beyond the value, I was impressed by the ample parking space, making it easy to pull over without any hassle. The cleanliness of the toilets was also a welcome bonus during a long journey. What truly stood out, however, was the friendly and polite staff. They were attentive and made the experience even better. Overall, Travelers Cafe offers great value for money, convenient facilities, and excellent service. I highly recommend it for anyone traveling to or from...

I recently purchased a cake from this cafe at 8:12 p.m., intending to serve it to visitors at 9:30 p.m. However, when we cut the cake, it was extremely dry and had a foul odor. We immediately returned to the cafe to file a complaint, only to be met with dismissive and rude behavior from the staff.
The cafe staff refused to refund our money, claiming it was our fault for not consuming the cake within 30 minutes. It is unreasonable to expect a cake to be inedible after just 1.5 hours. To make matters worse, they accused us of microwaving the cake to fabricate a complaint. Who would buy a cake just to ruin it in a microwave?
The poor quality of the cake and the unprofessional treatment from the staff were unacceptable. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for quality products or decent...
