My wife Soon and I went to have dinner late on a Thursday night. The place was almost empty, so finding a table was not a problem. The restaurant itself is very large, with a street view, but unfortunately that’s probably the only positive thing I can mention.
We ordered a mixed grill and skewered beef. Both meats were extremely salty, overcooked, and tough, almost as if they had been prepared hours before and then reheated. The quality was far below what you’d expect from a place that supposedly specializes in this type of food. The side dishes were equally disappointing – tasteless and uninspired – the only one that was acceptable were the French fries, which at least were edible, although they could have used a bit more seasoning.
The prices are high for what they serve, especially when compared to other restaurants in town. Chi Min, for example, offers excellent Chinese food with authentic flavor, and Passi is another great option with refined cuisine and better overall value. Even the small snack bar across the street delivers tastier food for a much better price, even if the menu there is limited.
I’ve had Brazilian food before, and sadly, what this restaurant offers is far from authentic. It feels more like poorly reheated dishes than freshly cooked meals.
To make matters worse, I ordered a caipirinha, but whatever I received was not a real caipirinha. The lime was not muddled with sugar as it should be, just random pieces floating in the glass. It tasted like they added some cheap syrup instead of doing it properly, and the alcohol content was so weak that I honestly questioned if it was the real thing.
The most uncomfortable part of the night, however, was the atmosphere. The place is frequented by prostitutes who kept approaching and bothering us, which ruined the evening completely. My wife felt disrespected and uncomfortable, and I don’t think any respectable restaurant should tolerate or allow this type of situation to happen inside their establishment.
To be fair, the waiter really tried his best and was attentive, but one good staff member cannot make up for all the other failures. The restaurant has a great location and a big structure, but everything else fails miserably — from the food, to the drinks, to the atmosphere, and even cleanliness. Unless they completely rethink their kitchen, improve service, and clean up the environment (literally and socially), I cannot recommend this...

We ordered chapas beef and espetao beef... Both meats were very salty, hard and over cooked, as if they prepared it long time and then reheat it. definitely not good. I didn't like the sides, none of them, except the fries (which needed a bit salt but it was ok).
The prices are on the high end, compared with other restaurants like chi min (Chinese highly recommended). And Passi (fine dining also highly recommended). Next time I won't stop at petisco... There is a small fast food locale next door, across the street, "mais voce" that it is much better food (very limited though) and better priced.
I have tried Brasilian cuisine before, and unfortunately, petisco does not deliver authentic flavour.
Lastly, I ordered one caipirinha.... I don't know what they gave me, but it wasnt the drink I ordered. It was lazy, lemon wasn't muddle with the sugar, they were just chunks of lemon. I think they put simple syrup, which is ok, but it wasn't enough. And the liquor was weak, I don't know if they gave me the real stuff...
It was a very sad experience, the waiter tried her best, but one person cannot make it up for the rest of it. Everything failed at the restaurant... They have a good location and a good establishment, they should take advantage and change the menu, improve the cooking and bartendering, and over all, improve the...

My worst disappointment came at the moment of paying the bill. Being in Suriname, They charge in US Dollars, if you pay with Credit card, they charge ridiculous fees making your final payment being waayyy more. My bill was $161 USD and when it reflected in my credit card statement they charged $214 USD, THAT'S EXTRA $53 USD WITHOUT TIP!... and No, it wasn't my bank fees or anything related.
They charge in USD, if you pay with credit card, they convert it to Brazilian Reals AT THEIR CONVENIENT EXCHANGE RATE, then more than 20% in fees for paying with credit card. IT'S RIDICULOUS!. Next day I went to the place to ask for an explanation and they (The cashier and the Manager) were always in a defensive way and kind of aggressive answering, always blaming to my bank wich is not true and not considering my points or verifying theirs. I just decided to leave and...
