Restaurant, cheese shop, canoe rental. A very popular restaurant with a big menu and cheese made at the dairy on site. They also have a selection of whiskies and other hard liquor to accompany cheese tasting. We tried the cheese tasting platter and the fried camembert. Taste is ok. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is also a resident cat who will stare daggers at you if you are occupying its chair. When the weather is good, it's nicer to dine on the pier rather than indoors. Located just outside of Östersund Tivars is a pittoresque restaurant accessible only by ferry to the island. The menu is slim but very appealing as everything is produced from the surrounding area, from the meat to the cheese on the burger. Prices are very reasonable and for the good food and excellent atmosphere it's very good...

Ikväll var vi och åt på tivars som vi alltid har älskat men idag blev vi tyvärr besvikna. Maten var som alltid god men servicen var inte bra. Det var vi och ett större sällskap där och det kändes som att vi blev helt bortprioriterade. En av killarna försökte kolla till oss och kämpade hårt men en annan anställd som jobbade var mer fokuserad på att placera sina föräldrar/bekanta bra än att se till oss som vara klara med tomma tallrikar i ca 15 minuter.
