We were visiting from New York city USA area on a road trip in Scandinavia. Was looking for a Sri Lankan restaurant and stumbled upon this restaurant. Small restaurant in a strip mall with a Sri Lankan grocery store next door. Was clean and had a restroom. The metro is just steps away and very convenient. 20 min ride from Slussen or Gamla stations. Not far from E20. There is a parking garage under restaurant. And wheel chair accessible.
The first day when we stopped by they only had mutton rolls. Nice crispy, with delicious filing and tasted very good. Oh it was heavenly. My husband enjoyed the tea. We tried their weekend buffet too. Quite a few dishes - 3 types of meat - Chicken, goat and beef, chicken biriyani, veg biriyani, fried rice, Dhal, eggplant/okra/green banana curry, manioca curry, and raita. had Poori too. And to top it off fried fish. We also tried the ulundu vadai which was good too. Well the food was yummy to enjoy it after having western food for a week. On our way back we picked up mutton rolls, fish rolls, chicken rolls and Ulundu vadai for our car ride back. Enjoyed them. Would have loved to try the pattise and cutlets but was disappointed they did not have it. But the rolls and vadai made up for that. Thank you Taste of Sri Lanka for great yummy food. Keep up the good work till...
Read moreExcellent buffet with 10 food choices as well as salad, dessert, coffee, tea & water choices! The Friday I went there for lunch there was an excellent potato & okra (ladyfingers) curry, two kinds of mutton curry (both equally delicious, had a hard time figuring out which one I like more), two kinds of rice as well as a dry potato dish, egg rolls and pasta/ mince sauce.
Everything was delicious. My mum had the vegetarian thali and wow! Gosh the variety and all of it super tasty. Free parking underneath in an enclosed garage for 2hours make it totally worth making a trek to this...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant and had a mixed experience. The masala tea was delicious and consistent with past visits. However, the dosa, while good itself, fell short in its accompaniments.
The sambar, a lentil stew typically served with dosa, wasn't quite right. It seemed more like a dal curry, which lacked the depth and complexity of a true sambar. Additionally, the chutney wasn't as flavorful as I remembered from previous visits.
On a positive note, the vada (a lentil fritter) was tasty. Overall, considering the price, the experience...
