Strandpiren — Restaurant in Hudiksvalls kommun

A really nice hotel with some amazing views of the marina and Hudiksvall. We had a suite, which was a reasonable size, panoramic windows from floor to ceiling means you have views out wherever you sit in the room, very nice. The big double bed was probably one of the best hotel beds I've ever had the pleasure of sleeping in, super comfy! A small 2 seater soffa and a recliner chair, small coffee table & TV sideboard at one end of the room, with the bed at the opposite end. TV can be seen from both the bed and the sofa. The bathroom is very spacious in these rooms, at a guess I'd say about 4m by 4m. A large jacuzzi for 2 people complete with built in radio, a reasonably large walk in shower plus his and hers sinks, oh and obviously a toilet. My husband says it's the best shower he's ever used and believe me, he's fussy about his showers, so coming from him, that's high praise. The breakfast was OK, nothing special, by no means bad, just OK. Plenty of outdoor seating, again with some spectacular views out over the water. We ate one evening meal at the hotel, service was good and food was nice, prices are around the same as other restaurants in Hudiksvall. One thing in our room I missed was not being able to open any windows, there is air conditioning, so the room was far from hot/cold, I just like the feel of fresh air and I did miss this. Friendly and helpful staff at check-in and when we had an issue with the shower which they sorted straight away. The room was large and spotless (although the two beds were right next to each other) and bathroom was a good size too. Lovely view from bedroom window over the water. We ate in the onsite restaurant (which also has views over the water) as the weather wasn't great and it's a walk into the main town area and weren't disappointed, the food was amazing and not overpriced for the quality. We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel, first was on the 30th June before travelling up to the North and the second one was on the 6th July prior to flying home fro Arlanda. We sai that if we didn't like this hotel we could cancel the second night but we loved it. We were able to easily walk into the town along by the harbour, the position was so quiet and peaceful and our room looked straight out over the water. It is a new hotel so it is all modern. There is a great terrace by the water where you can eat or have a drink and soak up the sun - we did. I could go on. We have stayed in Hudiksvall before quite a few times but when we come back which we do every year we will come...
