Kolgrill Kalmar — Restaurant in Kalmar kommun

So when I went to this very remote restaurant, I was greeted with 2 good things and 1 hefty price for my dish. The first good thing was that they have a free salad bar and drinks ( Ayran or juice). The second good thing was that their soup was awesome. But that's about every good thing I ate there. I ordered the mix dish. It had 1 skewer of Urfa, 1 skewer of chicken kebab and 1 köfte. I had never had a kebab that dripped with oil but was so dry at the same time. The Urfa has some vegetables mixed in and it makes the kebab be so dry and it messes with the texture of the meat. Good meat only needs salt and pepper no additional spices or vegetables. The chicken kebab was made from ground chicken meat which also dripped with juice but had no real taste. Real chicken kebab is not supposed to be made from ground meat. It's supposed to be made from marinated chicken pieces. Don't even get me started on the köfte that was really dry. The rice, was not prepared in the right way. It was also dry. But they try to mask all of that with all the sides they give with the dish. Like grilled chilli, or the grilled tomato. I couldn't even be bothered trying those. Except for those things, the servers were very nice and helpful. Despite the remoteness of the restaurant, the overall environment of the restaurant was very nice and classy. The prices were a little bit insane but I get that since they don't have much competition in that area. If I want to make a fair comparison, I would have to compare this restaurant with a restaurant that has a similar profile. I recently tried Dilan Kolgrill. Their food is much much better by miles. Also the prices around lunch time are not an insane 200+ kr. You can try it by yourselves and I'm sure you will come to the same conclusion. Overall, I think going there is not worth your money or your effort. Sure they have a nice environment and some free things but the food there neither has a good quality nor good prices. No disrespect to the waiters or people who work there without having the option to impact the quality of the food. I'd still call them amazing...

First time here and I was positively surprised with their delicacies. Who said nothing cheap is good? Here cheap and good is two of the best. All I can say man I'll be back but next time I am gonna taste other delicacies. I think they have cakes and ice cream so next time gonna make decent desert after main dish. 100kr per person lunch and believe or not their chicken is awesome. We ordered different dishes, the meat especially the chicken and the lamb are really nice and well grilled and extremely tender. Highly recommend the dishes here and not salty like most grill places. Highly recommend the restaurant. It’s probably one of the best halal restaurants in these parts of Sweden.
