Nice Valley — Restaurant in Stockholm

Nice Valley Café! The name itself, a direct translation from Swedish, is as endearingly "nice" as the café itself – a sort of generic, polite, English "nice," which paradoxically makes it rather Swedish, I'd say. It truly embodies that quintessential "it's nice" sentiment you'd overhear between two 90-year-old Swedes discussing anything from the weather to... more weather "How was the Nice Valley café?" "Well, it was nice." "That's nice, dear." You get the picture.

​And indeed, the view? Beautiful! So lovely you almost forget the minor details. One certainly pays a premium for this panorama, and frankly, I don't see much difference from when it was exclusively enjoyed by the local pensioners from the adjacent home – perhaps it's just the added thrill of sharing (?) ​Now, let's talk about the less picturesque elements. The interior, particularly the ordering queue, offers a rather authentic sauna experience – without the refreshing dip afterward. They don't even put up a measly fan. Come on! It's an environment where the staff, bless their hearts, are clearly doing their utmost in what appears to be a perpetual flatline situation. They're usually quite stressed and seem inexperienced, but hey, they're trying! ​As for the actual sustenance, the food is, shall we say, uninspired. It's bland, lacking variety, and frankly, quite expensive for what you get. But then again, one must factor in the visual feast outside, right? That wonderful view certainly adds a few kronor to the bill, even if the prawn sandwich doesn't quite live up to it. ​All in all, if you're looking for a painting of a view sacrificing a bit on the culinary front, Nice Valley is... well, it's nice. Just remember to dress lightly for the queue and manage your expectations for anything beyond the scenery.

Note. This is MY experience. Don't take it for scripture. Someone else may not be bothered by the inferno in the que and may enjoy the food immensely. Remember "Taste is like The Back" Swedish...

Been a fan of this place for years, but I just got to see it for the first time after the new owner & new renovations. Kudos! The place looks much better, comfy new furniture, relaxing colors, and much more space to just simply sit & enjoy the view! However; gotta give some constructive criticism here; you need to up your caffeine game! The coffee tasted funky, and the cappuccino was the worst I've ever tasted (very weak, tasted like warm water), it was definitely much better before! Hope you can...

Not so service-minded. On weekday they don't have any food for children. As adult lunch offer is way too sophisticated, getting a portion of that is not really an option "grillat ryggbiff med sotat kål". Cooking some pasta or pancakes is too much hassle for them. Staff was like zero invested into trying to resolve the situation. Too bad, as in the end 500 kr order just walks away. Although, had somewhat good experience during weekend lunches, such an attitude kills any wish to...
