Booked a table of 4 @ 5pm on the 17.07.2020 with 2 adults and 2 kids. Staff very good phone manner. Was very nice and professional and already felt the warmth of this place.

Arrived on the spot and was very well received by a young and well mannered waitress who shiwed us our table and gave us a brief explanation about the menu as it was in Swedish. She also mentioned if we needed more help to let her know as she can help us more as no English menu was available at this stage. We were pretty ok with the menu anyway.

Few minutes later the owner came and had a chat with us as he could recall me from the time I was there for lunch. And that was more than a year ago went there for lunch with my family as we were in the neighbourhood. Lunch was an absolute whopper! Super delicious and really well proportioned! Everyone realky enjoyed the food specially my mum. It was super delicious!

He offered us 2 starters and a mango lassie on the house which I was a little shy at the beginning but he insisted. Mango lassie was superb! Quite thick consistency where you can see and taste the mango pulp. The 2 vegetarian starter which was a potato pakora and a spinach and paneer pakora served with two delightful sauces that was extremely tasty. Works really well with the dish.

So while having a nice chat with the owner of the place, he proposed us some poppadoms or anything to much on while looking at the menu. We were quite ok so we turn down the offer. While having a chat with the owner, who is a genuinely nice and humble guy, not too imposing, we also asked him to recommend us some dishes. He chose the lamb dish with taro leaves and tamarind for my wife, the cod and green chilli dish for myself as i wanted a fish dish and the chicken tikka massala for my son. All of the three dishes was absolutely delicious! Specially that lamb dish. My goodnness me! They came with rice and we ordered a garlic naan that was fresh from the tandoor and soft and fondant in the mouth. While we were having our main the waitress and the manager of the house who also was a very nice gentleman and very professional mentioned that if we need more rice we can ask for it and thats our motto. Free rice no need to pay xtra which I found extremely generous at this point.

After our main, Was still a bit thirsty and decided to order a second lassie but this time it was a mint lassie. Again it did not disapoint at all. Refreshing with the mint and a very good balance from sweet, sour and the freshness of the mint when the ice melts down. Very nice consistency again.

We really loved the food here quite a lot. Bangladesh is home to some of the most exotically tailored flavors in the world, and having tried Bangladeshi cuisine in other parts of the world, I was justly curious to see how this compared. The takeaway setting was convenient, helpful and even with a sitting area to enjoy your meal in an intimate setting. While we took our meal home, I was still grateful for the sit down option. The preparation and waiting time was very efficient and quick. For our multiple dishes and starters, we waited about 10 minutes after beginning our order right at the window. The food was very well prepared, with strong emphasis placed on the fact it was served piping hot, proportionally satisfying and flavorful as well. The samosas and introductory starters were a delicious dig in rite of passage and the mint sauce and mango chutney were delicious additions. The butter chicken was exquisite, with the chicken being very fresh and ample and the sauce thick enough without over powering the flavors. The use of spices to augment the dish was chosen judiciously and nothing was too overpowering. It can be difficult to find Bangladeshi cuisine as proper Indian food and restaurants are more mainstream and traditional, but we were grateful in tracking down such a spot that catered to that need in the Uppsala area. The staff, management and cook were all very friendly and the portions were generous. Even after a 10 minute car ride back home, the food still stayed fresh and hot. I'd highly recommend this place for those interested and uninitiated to Bangladeshi cuisine. The selections were very inclusive to the spirit of Bangladesh and all of the major components that comprise it were available. I'd love to go back for many more future rounds to truly engage and appreciate it. This place might seem under the radar due to the building being small and the location near the train tracks, but appearances are certainly deceiving. You got to be a fan of spicy indian food to love this place. They even offer 10% discount for takeaway! The restaurant is crowded, there is an outside seating. The food is very spicy, nothing for people with ulcus. The dark brown background of the menu with dark yellow text is hardly readable. There is communication difficulties (your English knowledge won't help) when ordering, when you get your food, and when paying. This is the reason why Chinese restaurants went over to a system ordering by dish number. This restaurant is not understanding, they start numbering the dishes by type, and do not accept order fågel #2. The waiter do not remember the dishes by seat, they just shouting out the dish. You hardly understand the name of the dish with their dialect, maybe even forgot the long name, the menu is taken away, you can't look up what was what I ordered? Be careful when paying as a member of a bigger group. The personal do not always understands the name of the dish spoken the Swedish way and can register an other one and you pay more or less as your correct bill would be. The personal is watching as a hawk that all dishes are paid for, but missed the earlier mistake: the paid but not consumed dish.
