The rudest treatment I think I has ever received. The person responsible for it was the woman running the cafe/restaurant Fredriksborg. In my opinion, her behavior reminded me of an episode, it was that strange. And persistent. If you can't behave even remotely professionally and refrain from making guests who asks one (!) innocent question about whether it's possible to order cafe food and not just restaurant food (I was alone, I just wanted to have a coffee with something) without the meeting this question with the most ridiculous, weird and unpolite ways of NOT responding, acting like the guest is crazy for asking, answering in the strangest ways possible, strange glances, starting to babbelng about that there are signs outside (which she then discovered she had forgot to place there), etc, etc; then you shouldn no be in the service profession. No paying guest ever (!) is interested in being treated as if you were the weirdest person in the world for asking a very simple question. || I'm not setting foot there again, so it can only be stated that the weird person running the establishment, who is actually allowed to lease the place from the municipality, has turned this nature place of cultural value that the municipality obviously intended to be used by people, into a place I can't visit again, through a sickly rude manner. (And others as it seems reading Trip advisor feel the same way.) The municipality should take that into account at the next negotiation about continued lease. With leasing this kind of place comes a responsibility to not make it inhabitable for other ppl - ppl who are the actual owners, indirectly, of this place. This place should not have been made impossible to visit by the arrogant and oh so weird behavior of a cafe owner. Who visits a place where you have been directly, undeservedly, struck by the most bizarre rudeness like a bolt from the blue?|| I still wonder what I did to deserve the treatment. I am dark-haired (not dark-skinned. My mother's family can be easily traced back to the Viking Age in Sweden and I am related to the old Stures, Vasas and all of these families but my father's comes from Central Europe. ) I have been bodily sick for over ten years so maybe it's not my best appearance right now but... many people my age can look even worse :) I didn't have a husband with me. It might be easier to treat an alone middle-aged woman like that. I was there to check if I should hire to the place for an evening but for obvious reasons that's not of interest anymore.|| Regarding the food: The menu wouldn't give anyone a Michelin star. The interior wouldn't win any awards either. But the view is fantastic. However, that is not thanks to any unbalanced cafe owner. As I said, I won't set foot there again. She can take her strange ways and food and shove it somewhere. Nej, FY FAN! (swedish...) AVOID if you dont want a really weird encounter with someone who seems to have been brought up in a room...
Read moreThe position of this establishment is exceptional. Its credentials in various magazines are – let’s say “well written”:||||Out first hand experience is … absolutely disenchanting. We – that is a family of four who like to travel Europe by car and visit various restaurants, pensions and hotels of very different price ranges, found the “Fredriksborg Hotell & Restaurang” on Tripadvisor and thought it might be nice idea on our stay in Stockholm to spend a night out there in the the Archipelago. The hotel seemed nice, so the horses were saddled and we went on our way to somewhat remote location:||||The external impression was up to the expectations so we were already quite anticipating and just wanted to give the restaurant a try (an habit of ours to first test the coffee and cake of a place before settling down, because a place who cannot do the coffee is likely to fail on other services as well).||||In this case, however we could not even complete the coffee-test, since the place lacked something that is even more fundamental then coffee: Very basic manners.||||After entering the small and swedish -lovely decorated reception building we were not honored with a look or a nod (we would never expect a “Väkommen” – that was already written on street sign and therefore probably superfluous to utter) by the “Madame” at the reception, who was exceptionally busy with an other guest. We could of cause understand that she as the Maître d’hotel could not be bothered with suddenly appearing guests and so we patiently waited what would happen now: After five minutes a second person appeared and was with strict looks advised not to bother about our affairs either. “Fair enough” we thought “for sure this are the customs of the place, and the next person entering the already crowded reception area will for sure guide us to one of the numerous empty tables in the garden to serve sme lovely cakes and coffee.” However, we were again mistaken in this.||||We were obviously also mistaken in our interpretation of the word “Välkommen” which in other parts of Sweden – except in “Fredriksborg Hotell & Restaurang – has a quite pleasant standard european meaning and the hosts seem in general to agree on it.||||Here in ““Fredriksborg Hotell & Restaurang “g however it seems to mean: “Välkommen as long as you do not disturb our circles.”. When we understood our mistake of bothering the Maîtresse de la Hotel after a felt ten minutes of awkward waiting and bode our – as we thought – politest farewell and excuses for our existance, we were once more not worthy of a look, a nod or even a word.||||Well –Disappointment has always two sources: Inappropriate expectations on the side of disappointed and inappropriate behavior on the side of the host. In this case both was given in excess.||||Summary: No Respect, no Manners, no Style – no hospitality: Not Recommended regardless of other qualities the...
