Marin Kolgrill - Västerås — Restaurant in Västerås kommun

Upon paying the bill I noticed 2 hidden service charges (!) I asked the waiter what was it about and he goes: -"Is it your first time eating in a restaurant? Of course there is a service charge!" (Such a sweet(!) condecending way to treat a first time customer. Mind you no restaurant ever charged me a hidden fee in my 16 years in Sweden) "What was special about your service?" "We cleaned the table for you and let you sit and eat!" "But it is not legal to ask for something that wasn't clearly stated in the menu." "Oh you don't know? It's a new thing they have started." "Who have started it?" "We! And other restaurants will follow soon!" I am not making this up. This was word for word the conversation a waiter had with us upon us leaving.

Oh and about their "service": We got "greeted" by a 5 second silent dead stare from a waiter. the type of "what do you want?" stare that usually leads into fights in the streets. We waited for him to clean one table then our table. We only got a napkin and cutlery (no condiments or sauces whatsoever). The water came 15 minutes later with food! I ordered 2 Adana kebab skewers. I got one and half!!! I asked the waiter what happened to the rest of my food and he goes "Oh you know it was a big skewer in one piece and they cut it for you and now one is bigger than the other!" Do they really think I have never eaten kebab before? Did one of them just eat half of my kebab? Did it fall on the grill or the ground and no chef or kitchen personell or waiter ever notice? Do they even look at the food they serve people? When a moron looks into your face and gives you that explanation, I guess the best thing is just ignore it and go on with it...? And of course they never came to us to ask if we needed anything more or if we actually like the food.

I have never experience such arrogance, dishonesty, unfriendliness and indifference from restaurant personell in my 37 years on this earth! Food tasted good but it was a mini portion and we got stomach ache 12 hours after...

Seriously! Who are these people running this...

Very expensive and low quality. They charge service charges even for take out. They have crowded space.

Follow up on their response: I did not "find information". I went to this restaurant and bought a take out. So don't blame me and try to fix the issue. Please read my one line review before responding. Here is your response "You mentioned that we charge a service fee for both home delivery and dining in, which is not true". There are three types of getting food from restaurant in Google map. Dine in, Take out, and Delivery. I am talking about Take out. You are responding about Delivery and dining in. As your respond is irrelevant I have no comment to your automatic response. I really suggest avoiding using auto-generated responses to respond to customer reviews. Sometimes, you need to ask a human to respond to another...

Ganska otrevligt bemötande redan från början. Vi hade tyvärr inte bokat bord då vi bestämde oss i sista minuten. Vi kommer dit cirka 15:45 på en lördag och möts av en nästintill tom restaurang. Personalen uppger med otrevlig ton att alla borden är bokade och att de ska "försöka hitta nåt". Vi blir placerade vid ett bord med en lapp där det framgår att bordet är bokat från 19:30(!!). Märkligt att personalen ändå gav intrycket att vi är en enorm olägenhet genom att inte ha bokat och bordet är ledigt i nästa fyra timmar framåt.

Menyerna kommer och det framgår att det uppenbarligen finns ett tillägg(!!) om man vill konsumera sin mat på plats. Inte en rabatt för att ta med maten och på så vis spara restaurangen en slant. Nej, ett tillägg för att få äran att sitta i restaurangen och bli ignorerade av personalen samt få ett otrevligt bemötande. Priserna som för övrigt ligger över rimlighetens gräns helt utan motivering. Jag har ätit mycket godare kolgrill i centrala Stockholm, med deras höga hyror och höga löner, till en billigare peng än här. Dessutom så tillkommer 20kr för att vi ska få sitta intill en kall dörr.

Jag beställer en shawarmatallrik och övrigt sällskap beställer shawarmarulle och beyti. Allmänt för salt smak på maten. Bulgur var däremot mycket god och det ska restaurangen ha eloge för. Såserna påminnde mest om majonnäs (möjligen aioli?) samt Rhode Island dressing och var ingen höjdare. Beyti såg god ut och uppskattades av personen som åt den.

När väl dags att betala syns ingen personal till. En större grupp har nämnligen anlänt (de hade bokat som tur är) och personalen har glömt bort att det finns andra gäster på restaurangen. Man blev tvungen själv att gå och hämta personalen för att betala. Kändes som att det fanns risk att vi skulle inskränka på 19:30-bokningen annars.

Allt som allt, mycket mediokert till en dyr peng. Svårt att...
