Osteria Da Roberto — Restaurant in Altendorf

We stumbled upon Osteria Da Roberto on our trip to St Moritz. The reviews we read said this place was amazing, and those reviews were indeed true. As we arrived, we were greeted very warmly by Roberto. The menu wasn’t in english, but he helped us understand and recommended several dishes for us. First, the mushroom pappardelle. It was amazing. The cream sauce wasn’t too creamy, it was just right. The hints of olive oil made it perfect. The prosciutto e funghi pizza was probably the best pizza I’ve had in awhile. The tomato sauce was rich, and acidic. The mushroom blended well with the sauce and prosciutto, so did the cheese. The Amateiciana Penne was probably my favorite. Again, the tomato sauce was on point. The parmesan he sprinkled on top was a wonderful touch to this already wonderful dish. The seafood pasta, nothing short of perfection. It was really really really good… Lastly, Roberto’s Tiramisu. The best in the world, he said. It was great, and really soft. The chocolate was just right for me, so was the cream. Overall, I think I’d say this is somewhat underrated, in some way. At the time, we were the only ones eating there. The owner, chef, Roberto was amazing. We couldn’t have asked for any better. I highly highly recommend this place for Italian food lovers. The value for money is also on point. Besides food, the service from Roberto himself was a solid 13/10. Roberto is always nice. He speaks multiple languages: English, German and Swiss-german, Italian and more. You will immediately be welcomed by his infectious smile and positivity. In summer the garden is an oasis where you feel a gentle breeze and hear the lovely birds singing. Roberto's food is very nice. He is an experienced cook. If you preorder you can even eat fresh seafood like lobsters and oysters. There is a daily special available at lunchtime and his base menu includes pasta cooked to perfection, pizza, fresh salads, beef filet and more. The Tiramisu is a bomb and must-try. We had such a gorgeous meal here this evening. My dad was visiting and we decided to go here for dinner and it did not disappoint. I ordered the shrimp spaghetti and it was perfection. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, tender, plump and juicy, the pasta was al dente and delicious and the tomato sauce was just excellently seasoned and I could have licked the plate clean. The owner is the same person who served us and also cooked the food which means service is on the slower side to normal, but for us this led to a gorgeous enjoyable relaxing evening with yummy food.
