Pizzeria Bacco — Restaurant in Arth

Although the food and view is really nice, the boss of the restaurant was so rude to us that we will never come again. We were 3 people eating and spent 139.50CHF for an evening meal each and drinks. However, one of us did not want to drink alcohol and the boss rolled his eyes at this (obviously he wanted us all 3 to get an expensive drink). And it got worse: since one of us did not order an alcoholic drink he purposefully gave another of us a double wine drink instead of a single and charged for it (even though she only ordered a single glass of wine) to make up for the fact that one of us didn’t order an alcoholic drink. We found this very passive aggressive and incorrect. And obviously we felt very uncomfortable the whole time we were there since the eye rolling, which happened at the beginning...

I understand the need for financial recovery after COVID closures, but it does not mean that you need to be shady with your customers about lack of free tables. At first we came only for the drinks, and were told that no tables are available, so we were pushed to order food. During the entire time we were there, plenty of places were still free, so the initial claim was simply a lie. I am sorry, but it does not leave the nice impression about the attitude to the clients.

This is probably one of the better Italian food restaurants in the region. The pizzas are great, but so many other dishes to try that are excellent too. Always welcoming staff and a seating indoors or outdoors with a view to mountain Rigi, the lake and the sunset. Hard to beat. You might want to book here, it's a popular place. Update. After regular visits during months, I and other locals from the area notice a drop of quality of service, such as waiting 30 mins for paying or other similar lack of attendance. Food is still good.
