Chalet d'alpage du Vermeilley — Restaurant in Arzier-Le Muids

Lovely chalet, warm welcome. The chalet was packed on a snowy Sunday, but we were greeted warmly and seated within 10 minutes at the end of the lunch hour. I remain a bit jealous of my friend's croûte, but enjoyed a lovely Trifon - fondue pan with three parts that allow for a choice of three options. I have never seen so many fondue options, and each was delicious, along with the free sack of potatoes. Vin chaud hit the spot. Staff was charming, as was the young girl who visited tables and shared the music from her iPod, chatting away comfortably. There were several dogs tucked in under tables, and a delightful and warm fire in a stone fireplace bedecked with drying hats, gloves and coats. Je reste un petit peu jalouse du croûte de mon ami, mais j'ai partagé un Trifon - la choix de trois fondues dans un caquelon - avec des pommes de terre gratuites. Je n'ai jamais vu telle choix de fondue - 15 types - et chacune que nous avons goûté était delicieuse. Une jeune fille s'est promenée entre les tables, partageant sa musique et bavardant avec tout le monde. The chalet is cozy and you really get the mountain feeling, from the fireplace to the wooden tables and chairs. The woman that served us was very kind and could also speak English. The food is real mountain food, warm and delicious. In two people we shared a pumpkin soup and a fondue and we ended up happily full! The don’t accept payment by card but luckily they accepted euros. Petit chalet tout sympa avec cheminée à l’intérieur, personnel très sympa. Par contre, temps d’attente de 1h30 entre le moment où on est rentré dans le chalet jusqu’au moment où la soupe a été servie. Et py on avait réservé !! La soupe du chalet : bonne et rapport qualité/prix pas mal. Croute au fromage de chèvre aux champignons. Ça devait être 1 seul champion de taille moyenne émietté sur toute la croute ! autant dire que ça avait pas le goût de champignon ! Puis trio de fondue... Les portions était pas bien grosses (on est pas des énormes mangeurs). Et là, pareil pour la fondue forestière et la fondue morille, il y en avait tellement peu qu’on aurait cru de la fondu nature ! Il y avait que la fondue à l’ail des ours qu’on devinait à peine le goût ! Et tout ça pour des fondues à 26.- la fondue !!!
