I had lunch in this venerable 1960-ies looking mountain restaurant the first Sunday of May in 2024, taking a break from shooting crocuses and gentians in the Jaun pass. The weather had just cleared up and the view looking south is magnificent. It was still too cold to be served on their terrace overlooking the valley. This day there were two surprises; besides the early 1960, still functioning Rock-Ola jukebox, you could chose cold-smoked, wild arctic char, caught by the owner!! What a treat. The wine by the glass is restricted but well chosen and contrary to most restaurants in the German speaking part of Switzerland you do not have to pay for tap water when ordering alcoholic beverages.
