Parkrestaurant Les Cascades — Restaurant in Brienz (BE)

First of all this is one of the most beautiful places in Switzerland, however....the service, food selection and atmosphere has degraded to the point that at best, it is little more than an American burger joint experience masquerading as the high quality Swiss cuisine that it once was. It has all the high prices that would justify something nice, but none of the service. You can expect to seat yourself and have the dirty dishes from the prior client there in front of you for your entire meal unless you hijack a waiter that is passing by and physically put it on their tray. You have to go up and wait in line like a fast food joint and pay for the food before it is delivered. You drinks will be ready to be served and sit at the bar for 15mins, your food will be delivered uncooked and not be very good. They only have a handful of ketchup bottle and they are SHARED among clients, so when the table at the other end of the restaurant wants ketchup, the waiter will come and take your bottle away.Do not waste your money on this place. Incredible views of the falls, and good food!

I came here following a proposal to my then girlfriend.

The head member of staff was extremely welcoming and professional.

Unfortunately, the waitress made us feel very uncomfortable for not ordering wine or much food. This was because we had an afternoon tea in Interlaken which was much larger than expected and we were not hungry. So we had some smaller dishes. The waitress was rushing us and acted dissatisfied in our order. We would have explained, but she wasn't very inviting so we didn't.

Luckily this didn't ruin our happy day, as not much could at that point, but the service here could do...

I recently dined at this restaurant, and I must express my disappointment with the experience.

Firstly, the soup and dishes were incredibly salty, to the point where they were nearly inedible. It's hard to believe that this level of seasoning is considered appropriate for the local community in Brienz and for a 4-star hotel.

Furthermore, the presence of flies throughout the dining area was unacceptable. It's disheartening to see such a lack of basic hygiene and care in a place that should prioritize customer comfort and cleanliness. I hope these issues are addressed promptly, as they severely detract from what could be a pleasant...
