Rosinburg — Restaurant in Bubikon

I had dinner here by myself (as one does when on a business trip), and I think I had the bad luck of coming on one of the hottest nights of the year when the whole world decided to eat out. I arrived around 8 pm, but it took quite some time for things to get rolling. First, it took some time for someone to take a drinks order, and then it took quite some again to get a menu (as it turns out they forgot to give me one). Then when I ordered, it took quite some time once more. All in all, it took more than an hour before I had food on the table. Now this is fine if you're in good company, but I was by myself, and eating alone is always awkward to begin with, spending an hour waiting makes it a little worse. Anyway, the food; it was insanely warm out, so I ordered beef tartare, spicy. Which is exactly what I got. The meat was nicely prepared, but too spicy. I like spicy food, but I also like to taste the stuff the spice is on as well. Here it was like there was a party in my mouth and everyone was on fire. I know it was my choice to order spicy, but you would expect the chef to ensure the meal isn't destroyed before it leaves the kitchen. Bread was served with the tartare, but that was about it. A few vegetables might have been nice as well. Then came the wait again for the check, some worries around the card machine, but everything turned out ok. In conclusion, probably 4 stars, had the service been better. I realize this was probably a fluke, and I'm sure they have more staff on weekends, but it kind-of ruined my experience. We arrived from overseas, in need of 3 weeks accommodation. The owners of Hotel Rosenburg gave us a great deal, their friendly approach made us feel very welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this lovely hotel, our room so comfortable and well appointed, and the access to the Restaurant with a great menu such an enjoyable experience. The service is fantastic, extremely friendly and helpful staff. The food is exquisite, unexpected combination to satisfy those who love the best! I am usually a very picky customer but I have been so positively impressed! They start by offering some home-made bread and delicious tomato salsa.
