Wow! Diamond in the rough! We had our doubts from past roadside restaurants, but this one is a hidden jewel! My wife had one of the salads. A big one with tuna. She told me it was the best kind she’s ever had and was as good as her grandma’s! That’s saying a lot! Me, being the Italian I am, I had pizza. Prosciutto to be exact. I asked for well done and I got it just that! It was perfect and tasted delicious! The crust definitely one of the best I’ve had. When I ordered the il conto I was shocked it was so inexpensive! Non sono solita a lasciare recensioni, ma in questo caso lo ritengo doveroso.

Abbiamo prenotato una cena per un gruppo di circa 40 persone, con menù già concordati in anticipo. Il locale era riservato esclusivamente per noi, come indicato anche da un cartello all'ingresso che segnalava il ristorante al completo.

Un episodio spiacevole si è verificato all’arrivo: una coppia del nostro gruppo aveva con sé un cane di piccolissima taglia, che non è stato ammesso nonostante fosse evidente che non avrebbe arrecato alcun disturbo. Una scelta rigida che ci ha lasciati perplessi, soprattutto considerando il contesto informale del locale.

L’ambiente, infatti, si è rivelato piuttosto spartano: tovaglioli e sottopiatti in carta, arredi essenziali. Passando al cibo: il menù con polenta e brasato è stato deludente, la qualità della carne decisamente bassa. Il secondo menù, con maialino e patate, era invece discreto, ma nulla di memorabile.

Il personale non si è mostrato particolarmente cordiale, contribuendo a una sensazione generale di poca cura nell’accoglienza.
