We had a terrible experience here today-strong xenophobia vibes. I don’t think they like foreigners. We showed up in the rain on a weekday night with tables open and they shooed us away. They claimed there were no tables available and wanted a reservation. They wouldn’t take a reservation or offer us takeaway food - just an attitude of “please leave our property, we don’t want foreigners - locals only.” Also no English speakers there on this night. Wonderful family run restaurant. The food is superb, the service impeccable, the restaurant is charming. A great place for a great evening (or lunch).

Das Grotto Alla Taverna in San Nazzaro ist ein verstecktes Juwel in Gambarogno, das definitiv einen Besuch wert ist. Die kleine Karte bietet frische Produkte und authentische Gerichte, die mit viel Liebe zubereitet werden. Mein Geheimtipp ist das Mittagsmenü für nur 16 Fr. Heute wurde ein köstliches Menü serviert: Als Vorspeise gab es einen frischen Salat mit gebratenem Tomkäse und als Hauptgericht wurde saftiger Hackbraten mit cremigem Kartoffelstock serviert. Ein wahrer Gaumenschmaus, der alle Sinne verwöhnt hat. Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich und einladend, und das Personal ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Ein absolutes Muss für alle Feinschmecker! .
