Cortile dei Beati — Restaurant in Circolo dell'Isole

Good food. Not so good service, unfortunately. I usually share such feedback on the spot so action can be taken, but today I was caught by surprise by the following:

1. Tried to reserve a table for lunch by phone and asked explicitly if I can be seated on the rooftop terrace. The waitress’ answer was “Yes, if you want, no problem”. But when I arrived to the restaurant 1 hour later and asked whether I can get a table on the terrace, I was told by (I think it was the owner) that the terrace is reserved for hotel clients only. There is no sign of such a limitation anywhere - I checked. I really hope it is not the approach they take to first invite people in and then kinda making people stay as not many will be able to leave, given that the client were looking forward to some good gastronomic experience.
2. The wine was served in a glass - the bottle was neither brought nor shown. I would like to see what wine I get served. I do not think it is too much to ask.

This is our clear and undisputed regular spot! Everything is just right here, from the greeting to the menu selection, the fantastic view, and the wonderful ambiance along with excellent service!! This is a place where you can simply enjoy and just be. The restaurant and hotel are run by a family that leaves a true mark of quality. I rarely give 5-star ratings, but this one is truly...

Ich kann gar nicht in Worte fassen, wie begeistert wir von diesem Restaurant sind! Auf unserer Erkundungstour durch die Altstadt Ascona sind wir zufällig auf diesen kleinen Schatz gestoßen. Die hausgemachte Pasta war einfach himmlisch – jeder Bissen ein Genuss, der die Sinne verzaubert. Und das Passionsfrucht-Sorbet? Unbeschreiblich gut! Gänsehaut am ganzen Körper, so erfrischend und perfekt.

Der Innenhof, in dem wir unseren Aperitif genossen haben, ist ein wahr gewordener Traum. Es ist der perfekte Ort, um bei einem Glas etwas zu entspannen. Drinnen wird es dann romantisch: sanfte Hintergrundmusik, die Atmosphäre ist einfach zauberhaft.

Das Personal war unglaublich herzlich und freundlich – man fühlte sich sofort willkommen. Wir durften sogar die Bar und die Dachterrasse besichtigen, und wow, was für ein Blick! Überall spürt man die Liebe zum Detail.

Dieses Restaurant ist definitiv zu unseren großen Favoriten in Ascona geworden. Wir können es kaum erwarten,...
