Grotto Mulin di ciöss — Restaurant in Circolo dell'Isole

came to this grotto 45 years ago for the first time and have been back many times since. we were excited to return for lunch this week on a cold and rainy day to see what the current owners offer. so glad we did as everything was absolutely perfect! we started with a delicious mixed salad that included some fresh seasonal ramp leaves and, on the owner's recommendation, a tripe dish, which was just like my mom used to make - hearty, tender and full of tomato-y flavor - yummy! we then each had osso buco with porcini risotto - couldn't have been better - i still dream about the bone marrow! heavenly! we both enjoyed a typical boccalino ticinese with a rustic local red, which hit the spot! this super tasty meal, a nice chat with the owner, and a one of a kind setting made for a very memorable experience! the outdoor area with the creek and watermill is a dream setting for a meal on a balmy night! if we still lived in europe, we would be here all the time! bravo - we'll rush back as...

If you don’t go to this restaurant when you’re anywhere within an hour radius you’re missing out. We went here on our last night in the area and wish we’d done it on the first, everything else we ate during the week paled in comparison. Make sure you don’t skip the faggottini with truffle & ricotta that had us all wanting to marry the chef. Slow cooked meats that fell off the bone and home made gnocchi that was just perfect.

We felt like we had dinner with family and the service was absolutely exceptional with great priced for the standard of food, service and the gorgeous location. A real gem of the region that may have ruined pasta for me forever as I don’t think anything else will...

Amazing cosy place nestled in, a delight to the eyes as the place is filled with nature and most importantly great ppl running the restaurant with true passion and love .. Simon & Tina are amazing hosts with wonderful stories and more amazing food and hospitality. We would visit the place whenever we are in Ticino. Kudos to the hosts for being so welcoming, warm and filled with true passion and love.
