Panorama Hotel Elisabetta has some huge positives but it is not a hotel in the traditional sense of the word – it’s a Pensione with limited amenities e.g. no front desk or personal representation for arrivals on days when closed (Mondays and Tuesdays). There is no system generated air conditioning but an in-room plug-in fan. There are stairs (no elevator) up to the rooms - two of which have balconies barely one metre wide and there is a canopy extension over the dining area which does little to prevent noise rising from the diners below in the evenings. However, the views from the rooms and terrace are superb and maybe beyond comparison in the locality. The rooms are basically furnished and spotlessly clean, wi-fi is excellent and there is ample free parking in front of the property as well as a bus stop at the entry gate. Breakfasts are served outside on the terrace or inside if preferred and are of a standard format. The food served (continental breakfast style only) is at the discretion of the property i.e. there is no breakfast bar with any choice/s. The restaurant at the property appears to have a fine reputation and the menus look distinctive. Alternative restaurants are also situated nearby. The atmosphere at Elisabetta is friendly-businesslike, nothing more, nothing less. To sum up the stay, an overall enjoyable experience at a property with fantastic views and also a great location for many local trips e.g. Centovalli, Valle Maggia, Val Verzasca as well as the towns of Ascona, Brissago...

The outstanding feature of the "hotel" is its location, high above the lake and with probably the best view of any hotel in and around Ascona. Nice breakfast on the terrace.||||The real problem with this place is that it is not really a hotel, but a pensione - a bar-restaurant with some rooms attached. We booked for peace and quiet and the opportunity to enjoy the amazing views and environment. What we got on our first night was bedlam outside, immediately below the bedroom window, as a supposedly once-a-month concert and party went on in one form or another until after midnight. The management might have warned of this when we booked - but did not. I complained and the following morning found my car, parked outside in the street, had been deliberately scratched. A pretty bad experience. The following night was, of course, better but all noise from the bar-restaurant floats up to the bedroom balconies. No apologies from the management. Plenty of other irritations - for example, there were mosquitoes in the room, but no way of getting a anti-mosquito plug. For 180 Euros a night it is...

Dei giovani fratellli Fabbro parlano già in tanti nella nostra regione. Non sarebbe da me...non metterci il naso e parlare dell'esperienza per sentito dire. Così mi sono organizzato con mia moglie ed una coppia di amici amanti della buona tavola e ci sono stato venerdì 27 luglio....sì, proprio la sera della bella eclissi di luna (che da questa splendida terrazza abbiamo potuto apprezzare pienamente. Al telefono per la riservazione: la prima esperienza! Un giovane simpatico (uno dei due fratelli), con grande carica empatica, si è già prenotato la metà del successo di questa recensione. Trasudava allegria, energia e piacere nell'accoglienza (quanti ristoranti avrebbero da imparare da questo giovane!). La terrazza gode di una vista magnifica sulle isole di Brissago e il Lago Maggiore. La struttura non è proprio modernissima, semplice che abbisognerebbe di qualche ristrutturazione che, ne siamo certi, la famiglia (siamo alla 4a generazione!) potrà affrontare in futuro dopo qualche stagione di successo. Successo che è praticamente garantito quando si lavora con la passione e con il cuore: si viene premiati se si lavora bene e se si è disposti a fare il sacrificio in una professione che, lo sanno anche i paracarri, è dura anzi durissima da esercitare per le ore di lavoro e per l'impegno che bisogna metterci.||Ora veniamo alla cucina: curata, squisita, creativa, colorata, decorata e ....chi più ne ha più ne metta. Ho mangiato il salmone marinato alla vodka: squisito. E il mio piatto principale è stato il pork belly (la pancetta in sostanza) cotta a puntino, morbida e gustosissima con una croccante crosta godibile. Tutto quello che abbiamo visto passare verso gli altri tavoli era molto invitante ed è per questo che non mancheremo in un prossimo futuro di fare visita di nuovo alla struttura. Un grande complimento ai due giovanissimi artefici e al loro staff per aver potuto condividere con loro questo approccio così costruttivo e creativo all'ospitalità. In una settimana in cui si è letto degli attriti tra alcuni ristoranti e le attività di piazza quali fast food e food truck, mi fa particolarmente piacere sapere che con la qualità e il sacrificio si possa ancora fare commercio. Lamentarsi non serve a nulla se poi all'uscita di 6000 persone da un concerto si nega una pizza al potenziale cliente in quanto lacucina è chiusa!!!||Dimenticavo di dire che l'attenzione ai dettagli e alle piccole cose i nostri baldi giovani l'hanno appresa viaggiando e lavorando all'estero...ecco il consiglio ai giovani disoccupati che preferiscono la precarietà al sacrificio!! Imparare...e mettersi in gioco...
