Defenately my upper class number one in Ascona. Together with the Ristorante Grotto Broggini in Losone the best in Ticino. The ambiente consists of old and modern. It's difficult to make photos without people inside. This special nice place reflects the flair of the Lago Maggiore area. You can get more than only the best mediteran food in Ascona in the upper price class. I recommend for red wine lovers to drink a Pocalinho there. Doesent have to be a wine expert to agreeing that the wine is excellent Very good coffee and a fine selection of desserts. Knew I wanted to eat here when I saw a local farmer delivering his fresh produce. Farm to table in action. This resto is popular not only for its delicious plates but also nice for people watching. Dining alone, I wanted a light dinner with comfy outdoor seating so I could watch the parade of people walking by. Ordered the prosciutto and cantaloupe appetizer and a grand bottle of mineral water. Just came out of there. Great tortellini and lasagna. Food in general good. But I've never been served by a more rude waiter. Putting fingers on my spoon before serving it, bumping all my plates and cutlery around, very curt manners, unsmiling and what's worse... After I paid the bill to one of his colleagues, and was ready to leave, he checked on my table and started shouting if anyone had taken the payment, totally distrusting my words or even the bank payment slip in front of him.
