Ristorante Pizzeria del Centro — Restaurant in Circolo dell'Isole

Ok, so I was super excited to try this restaurant again, had not eaten there for a long time and fondly remember the food and the setting. Well, the setting is still nice but the waitresses are all not particularly friendly, and seemingly so busy (with only the terrace full and the inside of the restaurant completely empty….) that after 30 minutes they had still not been able to take our order (although we asked to order several times) so we just paid for our drinks and left. Pity, we won’t go back. Another gentlemen and a close table said he had been coming here for 15 years and now incredibly slow… I would avoid unless you have endless time and patience and don’t care what time you will...

A nice place to eat in a comfortable ambiente a Risotto in Ronco sopra Ascona. Inside it has old pictures where you can see how Ronco was a half century ago. From the tables you can see directly to the traditional pizza oven. Outside, there are even more cozy seats near palm trees. The wine list is also very good and the desserts as well. Easy to find.: When you drive up it's 100m after the church on the other side of the street. Excellent attentive staff. So many reasons to go there again and...

Maybe we just visited on an off night, but we were disappointed. Service was friendly but * very* slow. We waited almost an hour and a half for three simple pizzas. The pizzas were not very good. The crusts were good and clearly homemade, but the toppings were heavy and gloopy. It was also extremely expensive given the quality of the food.
