Grotto Cà Rossa — Restaurant in Circolo della Maggia

On July 27, 2011, we came to this restaurant for a company dinner. We had a wonderful afternoon and evening. The food, the setting, and the ambiance were perfect. I took a few photos at the venue and we ended the evening by returning to Locarno. Later, I returned to my home country. Two years later, I left my company, and as time went on, the company changed hands and many former colleagues left. I lost contact with the people with whom I had such a pleasant time that evening. However, I was left with the photos I had taken and the beautiful memories of that night.

For years, I searched for the restaurant. In one of the pictures I took, only half of the restaurant's sign was visible, and the name couldn’t be read clearly. I searched and searched for years, but I could never find it. Finally, this year, I thought of asking artificial intelligence. I gave Grok a map covering a wide area including the countryside of Locarno, along with the photo showing the partially visible sign. And surprise — in just 2–3 seconds, it found the name and location of the restaurant. I was incredibly happy.

Il 27 luglio 2011 siamo venuti in questo ristorante per una cena aziendale. Abbiamo trascorso un pomeriggio e una serata meravigliosi. Il cibo, l’ambiente e l’atmosfera erano perfetti. Ho scattato alcune foto nel locale e abbiamo concluso la serata tornando a Locarno. Più tardi, sono tornato nel mio paese. Due anni dopo ho lasciato la mia azienda, e col passare del tempo l’azienda è cambiata di proprietà e molti ex colleghi se ne sono andati. Ho perso i contatti con le persone con cui avevo passato momenti così piacevoli quella sera. Tuttavia, mi sono rimasti le foto che avevo scattato e i bei ricordi di quella notte.

Per anni ho cercato quel ristorante. In una delle foto che avevo fatto, si vedeva solo metà dell’insegna del ristorante e il nome non era leggibile. Ho cercato per anni, ma non sono mai riuscito a trovarlo. Alla fine, quest’anno, mi è venuto in mente di chiedere all’intelligenza artificiale. Ho fornito a Grok una mappa che copriva un’ampia zona, compresa la campagna intorno a Locarno, insieme alla foto con l’insegna parzialmente visibile. E sorpresa — in soli 2–3 secondi ha trovato il nome e la posizione del ristorante. Sono stato incredibilmente felice.

Sehr feines Essen zu relativ hohen Preisen. Das Servicepersonal hatte (bei grosser Hitze) wohl nicht sein bestes geben können. Zabbaione & Risotto al Porcini gibt es leider erst ab einer Bestellung für 2 Personen. Für den Vegi unter uns blieb dann leider nur Gnocchi und Polenta zur Auswahl. Wir wurden während 4 Stunden nicht ein einziges Mal gefragt, ob es uns schmeckte, oder ob wir noch einen weitern Wunsch hätten. Ausser sls es dann um die Nachspeise ging. Es wurde kein Wein nachgefüllt und keine Nachfrage nach Wasser gestellt. Kein freundlicher Blick des (einen) Personals. Als das Essen kam, war eines der wenigen Worte die wir aus dem Mund des Personals hörten ein „Achtung“. Das wars dann schon wieder. Als wir bezahlen wollten mussten wir lange auf das Personal warten, das drinnen verschwunden war. Es war nur die Terrasse geöffnet, bzw zu bedienen. Ist deshalb nicht unser Favorit geworden. Obschon es auch von uns für die Küche gelobt wird. Vermutlich lags an der sommerlichen Hitze. Wir verschmachteten ebenfalls fast unter der fix Überdachten Terrasse,...
