Ristorante il Castagno Mugena — Restaurant in Circolo di Breno

I found this gem in a beautiful village above Lugano called Mugena. Il Castagno Hotel and Restaurant s a wonderful facility with exceptional hospitality. Having arrived hungry at 5 pm but the kitchen wasnt open till 6pm, a wonderful gentleman set my partner and i a treat of local meats and cheeses with wine, a gastronomic treat. Having being treated so wel, we stayed for the kitchen opening. We were bowled over by the menu contents and opted for Sea Bream with local vegetables and Mediterranean sauce of the house. It was stunning, the waiter presented it on a silver salver and served it to both of us without a bone. His expertise was exceptional and akin to a samurai with his filleting tools. His lady colleague was equally impressive with wonderful professionalism and mastery of her job. I cannot compliment this establishment enough and highly recommend it to anybody who loves delicious food, good friendly attentive service and relaxed ambience. My family and I had a really enjoyable 6 day stay at Il Castagno. The room was spacious with a lovely view of the mountains and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff team create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, they are attentive, friendly and professional. The food was of excellent quality.
