Pluses: nice and stylish entrance of the hotel, beautiful terrace. Breathtaking view. Very nice employees and friendly service. Minuses: No tv in our room despite room description , coffee maker in room means instant coffee, no one to checkin at 20:30. If you come in the evening, when it is dark , and if you do not really know Italian, then it could be really challenging to identify a hotel entrance .

We visited the fossil museum in Meride. In the pouring rain we had a walk through the pretty village and came across the Locanda. We asked about food and the charming host said the kitchen was closed but he could offer us lasagne or cold meat and cheeses. The lasagne was absolutely delicious. We'd love to return and stay in one of the beautiful looking rooms we saw on the website.

Il ristorante è fantastico. Arredato con gusto si ha un’atmosfera cosy davvero piacevole. In un luogo così, le aspettative sono alte e la carta con delude, con poche proposte, ma capaci di soddisfare tutti i palati. Purtroppo, i piatti comandati non sono risultati essere davvero all‘altezza. Per carità, tutto buono, ma non se consideriamo i prezzi, comunque molto elevati. In conclusione: se il ristorante intende mantenere questi prezzi, allora la qualità dei piatti deve alzarsi. Altrimenti è a mio modo di vedere necessaria una riduzione di almeno il 15% dei prezzi. Il servizio invece è risultato essere buono! La carta dei vini non convince. Etichette molto particolari, caotica e con pochi grandi nomi. prezzi sempre troppo elevati. Vedremo come il ristorante si evolverà. Non ho invece testato le camere, che sembrano peraltro molto molto belle.

Great style and ambiance. Unfortunately we had our baby with us during the stay in this hotel :-)

Value for money was most surprising me (175€ for a 2person room). Unfortunately did our baby not like the warmth and did not sleep well (no airconditioning), but for this we cannot blame the hotel. I think it was the warmest period of this summer. The style and ambiance is great.

What a fantastic find this is! Tucked away in the beautiful village of Meride, this is a really superb hotel. My room was extremely comfortable and decorated tastefully, and having access to my own rooftop terrace was a bonus. Best thing though was the service as that is what makes any holiday, so a big thank you to the delightful, constantly beaming Lucy at reception who also served at breakfast who was so helpful and who really made it a stay...

I am going to guess the rooms merit a five star rating as we visited mid walking tour from Bellinzona to Mendrisio. The property has been tastefully renovated to a high standard. Matched by the hospitable welcome for two tired walkers with miles still to go... If I could return to this region I will stay here, if we can get a taxi in Mendrisio we will return to enjoy more...
