Osteria Pizzeria Bar Ideal — Restaurant in Circolo di Mendrisio

Excellent place if you want to eat a good Italian pizza. The environment is curated, not that much sophisticated, but nonetheless nice. I tried pizza Romana, with pecorino and guanciale and it was really tasty. The guanciale was well roasted and the pizza dough didn't cause any excessive thirst after. Prices are comparable to Italian ones (that is to say low) with respect to similar pizzerias...

Purtroppo la mia recensione si basa su di un’unica esperienza, per la quale ho dovuto attendere ben più di 45 minuti prima di essere servito. Il ristorante è frequentato, sopratutto sul mezzogiorno, da vari lavoratori. Non ho visto grandi sorrisi da parte del personale, il che l’ho trovato peccato. La pizza non era male, croccante e cotta a dovere, anche se personalmente l’ho trovata un po’ poco gustosa. Forse sono capitato nel giorno sbagliato.. non saprei. I prezzi, tuttavia, sono davvero onesti: tutte le pizze a 10 CHF...

Wir haben zweimal im Ideal gegessen, von Pasta mit Porcini bis Polpo. Jedes Mal war es sehr gut. Aber ein grosses Lob für den jüngeren Koch. Sein "polpo ai ferri" war einfach fantastisch, wir haben diesen Teller nochmals bestellt. Sehr zart (morbido) auf dem Grill gebraten, eine Kunst den Polpo so gut...
