I believe I just went to the best restaurant in Lugano. A legit mom and pop restaurant that serves home cooked meals without the fancy decor. This place looks like a local spot and from what I can see it was local people eating here. Very nice people that for the most part say bye to you when they leave. Food was very very good and balanced. Not salty. I went for lunch and it was a set menu that comes with bread soup and an entree. Today was a pumpkin soup and duck with potenta.

Such a hidden gems. I went there with my husband after visit lugano. We took manzo cordon bleu (beef), frog with butter n polenta, frog with garlic n parsley (the best imho)... All the food were incredibly delicious. The interior was really classic, the service was outstanding and the price is affordable. If I can give 6 stars, i will definitely give.

L'unica cosa che posso dire è che tornerò sicuramente se dovessi trovarmi nuovamente a Lugano. ------ Wow, simply outstanding! I appreciated every aspect of Osteria Riva, from the selection of appetizers to the main course, and on to the dessert, not to mention the impeccable service and the owner's attentiveness. The only thing I can say is that I will definitely return if I find myself in Lugano again.
