The bed was not clean. We found hairs, crumbs, spots on the sheet. From outside, it looked fine, but once you raised the cover, it looked very used. Disgusting!||We let reception know when we left for the evening, asking if they could make the bed fresh. Upon our return around midnight, the sheet had not been changed. Nobody around, so we called their emergency number. The lady argued for a long time, saying that we could have brought in dirt ourselves to make the bed look used! How ridiculous! At midnight, all one wants to do is sink into bed - a clean bed! She finally offered the use of a new room. We moved our things next door and finally went to sleep. ||The next morning they demanded that we pay a surcharge for the use of the replacement room!||What bad customer services! She even called me a liar! It was a difficult situation, arguing in a language that we are not native in, faced by people who threatened us with fines of CHF 1000.- .||Well, we certainly won’t stay here again in a little hotel run by unpleasant, greedy people. ||I even telephoned the police, but the offficer said it would take them a long time to come. By then we had heard that our mother was taken to hospital, so we paid the surcharge and caught the train back to Zürich. Two days later, I still feel sick, that these hotel people couldn’t just hand us tired travellers fresh sheets. I would have made up the bed myself!||Do they provoke this for...
Read moreI acknowledge that Geneva is an expensive city but this hotel is totally overpriced for the quality of service and poor accommodation offered.||Our double room was in the eaves so nearly 1/3rd of the floor space was barely useable (unless you happen to be shorter than 4 foot). This coupled with a massive air conditioning unit meant that you couldn't swing the proverbial cat!||Even more disappointing was the complete indifference of the staff at breakfast time. The buffet was not replenished so by 9am there was hardly any choice, and the few slices of bread left languishing were stale, completely unacceptable when you are paying for a buffet breakfast. If it is first come, first served they should make this clear.||The hotel was hosting a training course and the delegates, working on their presentation, were blocking access in the dining area and the staff made no attempt to ask them to relocate to a less disruptive location. I know the delegates themselves should have recognised they were in the way but as they didn't seem to acknowledge this I feel the staff could have stepped in.||Interestingly, we were never asked if everything was OK, even at checkout. I guess this is because they knew the answer would not be very positive. ||Overall I would suggest that travellers seek alternative accommodation unless you enjoy being ignored and staying in...
Read moreAdmittedly this is one of the cheaper places to stay in Geneva and it is in a truly beautiful location in a sleepy village looking out at the mountains in the distance. The hotel seems to be bolted on to a restaurant like so many are in this part of the World. Hotel is spotlessly clean and the room was fine albeit quite small. There is a portable ac unit which I suspect is really noisy if you had to use it. Note it is very French here and not a lot of English is understood. Definitely no English channels on the tv! I had problems with the weird Swiss power sockets that don’t fit any of my travel adapters - so be prepared. I did eventually work out I could use the mirror shaver socket to charge my phone. The worst bit were the loud clock bells that wake you up at 7am like a dawn chorus repeated every thirty minutes. I think the novelty would wear off pretty quick. The breakfast was disappointing. Ultra continental ie some bread some ham some cheese and some coffee. Very sparse and basic. I did charm them into making me a soft boiled egg however. I thought there would be some musli at the very least. Any way for a business traveller over night stay...
