First pond exclusive for fly fishing is starting from 1st of March. I think idea is great but still can't see how will all other visitors walk pass that pond to reach other ponds. Other suggestion is to make few more places for fish cleaning because of waiting time, At my last visit I saw new gadget to enjoy the place much more. I am talking about BBQ movable pot. Really great idea. Unfortunately there was also info that the first pond will be reserved only for fly fishing. On one side I think that's great idea, but wrong pond, because everyone has to pass first pond to get anywhere else. I fully support fly fishing idea, but would suggest to take the latest pond, also with less trees and less people walking pass.

Am Donnerstag, 2. Oktober 2025, war ich nach längerer Zeit wieder einmal im Quellpark-Kundelfingerhof in Schlatt. Und wie so oft habe ich die Forelle Müllerin-Art bestellt – diesmal mit Rösti und frischem Spinat. Schon der Gruss aus der Küche, eine feine Kürbissuppe mit Brioche, war geschmacklich perfekt abgestimmt und machte Lust auf mehr.

Die Forelle selbst war butterzart, auf den Punkt gegart und einfach hervorragend. Auch die Rösti – knusprig, goldbraun, buttrig – eine Seltenheit in dieser Qualität. Alles zusammen ein wirklicher Genuss.

Der Service war ebenso grossartig. Schon beim Eintreten wurde ich herzlich empfangen. Besonders möchte ich Christine und ihr Team hervorheben: aufmerksam, freundlich und professionell – man fühlt sich sofort willkommen.

Auch wenn sich der langjährige Koch Marcel beruflich neu orientiert hat, überzeugt die Küche weiterhin auf ganzer Linie. Ich war ehrlich gesagt überrascht, wie nahtlos das hohe Niveau gehalten wird. Für mich steht fest: Der Kundelfingerhof ist nach wie vor eine Top-Adresse für kulinarische Freude und herzliche Gastfreundschaft.

Fazit: Ein Ort, den ich jedem wärmstens empfehlen kann – hervorragendes Essen, liebenswürdiger Service, ein stimmiges Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis – und immer wieder ein Erlebnis, an das man sich gerne erinnert. Ich komme sehr gerne wieder und bringe sicher auch Freunde mit.

Beautiful restaurant and fish ponds located on the road between Stein am Rein and Schaffhausen. We've discovered the place by chance, on a Sunday, when everything was closed in the area. We have enjoyed the finest fresh trout, smoked fish and schnitzel. All produce are local and the fish is from the restaurants own ponds. Our host was most welcoming and very attentive to a family with 2 young kids. Would most warmly recommend and will certainly revisit next time we are...
