Marum Matum — Restaurant in Egg

We didn't expect too much from the Schafli as it is local to where we are staying at present and it's not a large town. It turned out this is a hidden gem of a place.

We have eaten in many restaurants around the world over the years and this was one of the best food wise. We ordered a la carte and the mixed starter for two and the main dishes exceeded our expectations.

Combined with pleasing décor and service that was welcoming and efficient, we will be definitely be going again before we leave the area and highly recommend...

Vorspeise auf deutlich angefaulten Salatblättern angerichtet. Dips mässig. Sate Spiess trocken Frühlingsrollen normal. Auf Niveau TK Ware. Rindfleisch-Curry, sehr scharf bestellt, mit der Bitte dies (Wok) im Kochprozess zu machen statt Zusatzsauce. Es kam nicht leicht scharf, es kam gar nicht scharf mit dunkler Chilipaste welche ich grausam finde. Gemüse habe ich keines gefunden ausser zwei rohe Peperoniringe (DE: Paprikaringe) und Bambus, gehört nicht in ein Curry (soweit mir bekannt). Die Sauce verzichtbar.

Niveau Gekochtes: Auf mittlerem Chinalokal Level. Das war nix. Ambiente könnte deutlich besser sein. Bedienung sehr freundlich, kunstvolle Deko auf dem Teller. Für das Qualitätsniveau zu teuer. Das ist keine Thaiküche, die übliche Pampe. Aber schöne Bildchen haben sie hier und...

This restaurant may not seem big but this is by far the best Thai restaurant I have tried in my life. I love Thai food and have tried most of the Thai restaurants in Zürich. This is the best one I have ever tried....
