Les Touristes Châtelard — Restaurant in Finhaut

DO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE. I made a reservation with them and they contacted me to say THEY HAD A PROBLEM and I could cancel it and get a refund. So i wrote to them saying I wanted to cancel the reservation and also called them to make sure the reservation would be canceled. Well they did not cancel it, they did not sent a refund and told me I had to deal with bookings.com. I told them bookings makes me go through them because it was prepaid and on the website they had it as non- refundable... guess what?! they didnt care and told me they are not refunding me the money. dont make the same mistake I made. They do not honor their word, dont respect their customer and will make you pay even when they tell you they are not fully prepared to receive...

I highly recommend Les Touristes Châtelard. If you’re hiking into Trient off of the TMB, take a taxi or bus to this place. I came across it when I wasn’t able to find lodging at the refugees in Trient and thank goodness I came across Les Touristes. Madeline, (I believe that is her name) does an exceptional job at making you feel welcome. Their food is simply amazing……, all of it is made in their kitchen and the ingredients are sourced from the area. Getting back to the trail was a breeze as well. Madeline was able to drive me back to the TMB so I could continue my trek. Please consider staying here, you won’t be disappointed.

Maribel and Norbert are great host, they really created a family atmosphere in this wonderful place. The rooms are clean and well equipped, we had everything we needed. The restaurant part is very cosy. Maribel made sure that you feel like home, offering great service and speaks at least 3 languages. Norbert is a great cook, I highly recommend to try his onion soup, fondue, steak or burger, The location of the place is very convenient if you would like to ski in the Chamonix - Mount Blanc area. The French border is ~20 meters away, you can either drive to one of the next villages where the skilifts are located, or take the train, the station is just 10...
