McDonald’s — Restaurant in Gossau (SG)

Incompetent staff.

I ordered once again tonight using the McDonald’s online app, and this time, even the manager was unable to read my order displayed on his screen. He asked me to show him the details on my phone. A female employee then joined in; at least she was more respectful and tried to help, but the manager remained completely nonchalant and arrogant. He didn’t even greet me or say hello.

This led to a series of confusing conversations between the two of them. I addressed both directly to make sure nothing would be forgotten. I clearly stated that the McRaclette should be without pickles and with an extra beef patty, which I had of course paid for (2.50 CHF).

I thought everything was clear, and it seemed like things were finally in order. After a 15 minute wait, I received my order despite being the only car there, and it was Sunday at 11:45 PM.

I should have double checked, but after all the questions and back and forth, I assumed they would at least get the order right. But no!! When I got home, I found that the McRaclette was missing the extra patty and even had pickles in it!

For context, I regularly order from this same restaurant. There have been ups and downs, but this time was just completely unacceptable.

Edit 08.01.2025: Following my review, I received an apology letter along with a coupon for a free small menu, which I appreciated. In the letter, they also stated that measures would be taken to improve the professionalism of the staff.

However, during the second order I placed after the incident, the same mistake happened again. This time, they respected the "no pickles" request, but once again forgot to add the extra beef patty I had paid for.

Clearly, nothing has been done to fix the problem. It's disappointing to see the same issues repeating themselves despite their promises. It's not just about the extra 2.50 CHF, but about consistency, professionalism, and respect for...

...wir waren zu sechst da (drei Erwachsene, drei Kids) - und werden es nie mehr wieder sein! Erstmal das positive: Das Personal war freundlich - wenigstens zu den Kindern - ansonsten, naja! Die Pommes konnte mann essen - sie waren wenigstens heiss.

Nun zum anderen: Der Mc Rösti wurde beworben - ich fand jedoch auf dem unpersönlichen "Angebots-Blechautomaten" keinen. Also entschied ich mich schliesslich für einen Mc Raclett. Die Bilder auf den Angebotstafeln sahen ja recht appetitlich aus... Aber was da dann kam, war absolut unterirdisch! Ein ausgelatschtes "Brot" - welches diesen Namen nicht im entferntesten verdient - ein unappetitlich aussehendes Stück "Irgendwas" (hätte wohl auch "Ratte" sein können), was sich Burger nannte. Und die Raclett-Komponente - war der "Oberenttäuscher"! Da war kein schön schmelzender Käse, welcher sich über die "Einlagen" ergoss... Stattdessen - eine Scheibe Käse, welche im Maximum während 1 Minute 50 Grad Hitze überstanden hatte. Er hatte also ein paar unschöne Blasen bekommen - fertig. Den Rest erspare ich euch... Eigentlich hatte ich ja ein gewisses Mass an Hunger - nach einigen Bissen, war dieser jedoch "weggescheucht".

Geschmacklich war das Ganze im MINUS 10 Stern -Bereich. Ich hätte ebenso gut an meinem Daumen lutschen können, was kulinarisch wohl hochwertiger gewesen wäre. Für diese unterirdische "Qualität" an Sättigungsmaterial - sind die Preise dann jedenfalls überirdisch!

Danke für diesen Reinfall - das war seit etwa 20 Jahren mal wieder mein erster - und wohl für den Rest meines Lebens auch der letzte Besuch...

Was there for a bitte as we had some time on our hands and were hungry. Getting to the point, both burgers were hot, plenty of sauce and freshly cut salads.. which were actually falling out! Have not seen this much amount of Mac burger in a while! Macdonald's Wil and Abtwil can send their staffs here for training in the kitchen n service! Would have given 5 stars but for that little drafty table by the door.....
